Many phone makers develop their camera systems with the help of photography and videography legends. Xiaomi has Leica on its side, Oppo has Hasselblad, Vivo has teamed up with Zeiss and now, Honor is building on its previously announced partnership with ARRI.
You'll want to mark the September 28 date—that's when the Honor Magic 9 series is expected to land. And yes, the Honor Magic 9 will take advantage of that ARRI partnership, so if you're into mobile photography, I assume I've got your attention by now.
The next step
Honor is expected to launch the Magic 9 and Magic 9 Pro Max models plus another version, probably called the Magic 9 Super Edition.
The company is gradually seeding information about the Magic 9 lineup and the latest bit of news has to do with the Honor Magic 9 ARRI Cinematic Video filters.

Not your ordinary filters
Every phone nowadays comes with built-in photo or video filters of some sort, but once ARRI is involved, things get far more interesting. Users will be able to use some of ARRI's iconic cinematic color solutions, but customizing will also be possible for realistic skin textures and true-to-life highlights and colors.
It's all about aesthetics
Actor Xio Zhan, a global ambassador for Honor flagships, showed what the Honor Magic 9 will be able to achieve. Users will likely be able to choose from ARRI-6220, ARRI-7130 and other effects to adjust the overall tone, warmth and coolness.
The Honor Magic 9 Super Edition is shaping up to be a seriously specced flagship, with a 6.81-inch flat AMOLED display offering 1.5K resolution and Magic 11 OS based on Android 17.
Its rear camera setup is expected to include a 200 MP main sensor, a 12 MP ultra-wide and a 50 MP telephoto, although an earlier leak pointed to a 50 MP primary camera instead. Powering the phone will reportedly be the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, backed by a massive 11,000mAh battery with 80W wired and 50W wireless charging, while a built-in fan should help keep temperatures under control.
A 50 MP selfie camera is also expected and the phone will reportedly come in yellow, green, white and black.
Mint Mobile is now allowing you to get whichever plan you like for either three, six, or 12 months for just $15/mo. If you go for the six-month unlimited service, for instance, you'll now have to pay just $90 upfront instead of $210.
