Unofficial Samsung Galaxy S8 render is based on Blass' leaked image of the flagship
A few days ago, tipster extraordinaire Evan Blass tweeted what was reportedly a real image of the Samsung Galaxy S8. Now, we have an unofficial press render of the eagerly awaited flagship model to show you. Taking the picture disseminated by Blass and turning it into a render was Benjamin Geskin, who has made a few previous renders of the phone. The new render is supposedly a more accurate version of previous ones since it is based on the image provided by Blass.

The front of the phone shows a curved dual-edged display that appears to be bezel-less. There is a power button and two buttons for volume up and volume down on the left side of the handset. On the right side, there is a single button that could be used to activate AI feature Bixby. On back is a single camera lens flanked by a flash unit, and a fingerprint scanner.

We could see the Samsung Galaxy S8 equipped with a 5.8-inch Super AMOLED display carrying a 1440 x 2560 resolution. The U.S. version of the phone will probably be powered by the Snapdragon 835 chipset. The phone should come with 4 to 6GB of RAM inside along with 64GB of native storage. A Type-C USB port will be included along with a 3.5mm earphone jack. The unit is expected to feature an IP68 certification rating for dust and water resistance.

Check out the new render, which we stress is not official, by clicking on the slideshow below. The Samsung Galaxy S8 and the larger Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus could both be unveiled on March 29th. The Galaxy S8 Plus is rumored to carry a 6.2-inch screen and could feature a dual-camera setup on the back of the phone.

Smeargate! You heard it hear first. (Touching the camera lens instead of FPS, causing oil on the camera len)

It's still ugly.

Yup. But it's 90% fake news. I still don't believe this render . Just taking my phone in hand, and try to figure out, where my pointer finger goes naturally on back to touch . Well the finger tip touches the spot way above the camera on the top edge of the phone. So , there will be the best place for FPS on the back. Period. And there was reports that it will be there.

Please share how you calculated that 90%

Well, I say +/- 10%. Trust me! I know US media very well. Apple Car, Apple TV set, Sapphire display, iRing, Samsung copy the ''courageous'' jack-less innovation, few years so far bezel-less iPhone came every year ....and so on. My predictions are way better than US media so far.

The US media should learn from you.

Well, least honesty , they could learn from me. I guess they know, what I know too, but writing it, doesn't pay bills. So, you listen to me instead. It's more safe.

so is your opinion. No matter how entitled to it you are! I would say in general most phones are ugly, but at least this one changes every year. Looks better than any phone you can name. So if all of them are ugly, at least there are at least 100 phones uglier than this one. Ingrate!

Don't know where your info is coming from, but the fingerprint reader is going to be under the display.

While I still think the fingerprint sensor on the rear makes the camera area look way too cluttered, I am absolutely loving the front side with those ultra slim bezels.

Looks like a slab of glass with a camera attached to it. It doesn't have any esthetic features at all. Looks bad to me.

Well, s series always look like a slab of glass because the back is always glass.

That's because it is glass. What did you think it would look like. What did you think it would look like a slab of plastic.

4000 to 5000mah battery for S8 and a Streetfighter edition Samsung, that's all I'm asking from you.

unfortunately, the 5.8" S8 has a 3,000mah battery same with the 5.1" S7 and the 6.3" one has an even lesser 3,500mah battery than the 5.5" S7 edge.

Not only are you stupid, youre also wrong. Every S had gotten bigger and so did the batter. The S7 is almost the same size as the S6 and it still has a larfger cell. Way biiger than what many other phones got. Even the S7 Edge has a larger battery than its slightly smaller sibling. It takes way more effort to be a complete idiot, than it does to be smart. You aren't even being logical. Lets see. The phones are rumored to got from 5.1 to 5.7 and from 5.7 to 6.3. If those end up being true, your claim is the batteries will remain the same size? The Note 7 was only slightly taller, yet slimmer than the Note 5, yet gained 400MaH in the battery size? You are a fool...FOOL!!! You guys aren't even remotely entertaining and you aren't even funny. You must be mad that the PoS phone you own, isn't as good as a Galaxy

Note 7 gained 400mAh but then what happened? Battery increase tells half of the story. How it's made and how long it gonna last is a factor too.

I was hoping they would release a non curved version. I carry my s7 edge with no case and I am TIRED of acidentally activating things because im touching the edge just by hilding the phone. -_- I'm so ready to get a pixel or an iphone

Crossing my fingers that s8 curve will be like the note 7 design. I disable my edge functions and secure the display with good ol' passcode. No accidental slips so far.

Well, the original leak was posted by blass and his words my friend, is gospel as long as leaks are concerned. So, just brace up to the fact that this is what you'll be seeing come March 29th, unfortunately.

Blass' words are gospel as long as leaks are concerned? His HTC One M9 leak says otherwise.

So get one of them. No one is making you buy a Galaxy. Samsung is moving to all edge models until the next glass evolution and others like Apple are following. Samsung has already stated they are not making it flat anymore. So get past your pirpe dream and move on to another brand. Smartphones have been flat since the 1st iPhone. Seems people would be glad to see something different. With people like you, if you owned such a company, computers would still take up full rooms or floors, because pie all have no vision, no imagination and no forward thinking. I'm so glad most of the fools here don't run any company. They would all be dead within a few short years.

Samsung and their s**tty back design.. aside the edge display, this is basically a run of the mill smartphone with an ugly backside and boring front side.
