Unlocked Samsung Galaxy J2 Prime now available via Amazon

While it hasn't been properly announced, the Samsung Galaxy J2 Prime can now be purchased in the US via Amazon. Known in other markets as Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime+, the Galaxy J2 Prime is an entry-level smartphone - just like the Galaxy J2 (2016) and the Galaxy J2 from 2015.

The Galaxy J2 Prime is offered via Amazon by a third-party seller, so it's not officially sold by Samsung. Perhaps that's why its price is higher than you'd expect: $139.99 + $4.49 for shipping. In any case, the new handset will work on AT&T and T-Mobile (LTE connectivity included), but it's not compatible with CDMA carriers like Verizon and Sprint.

Running Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the Samsung Galaxy J2 Prime sports a 5-inch display with 540 x 960 pixels, and is powered by a quad-core MediaTek processor. The handset further offers dual SIM capabilities, 1.5 GB of RAM, 8 GB of expandable storage space, and a 2600 mAh battery. Also on board are an 8 MP rear camera and a 5 MP front-facing camera, both featuring LED flashes.
