The Huawei Mate 20 RS Porsche Design is official as the ultimate premium experience
Just as expected, Huawei took to the stage earlier on today to announce the Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro. In a rather unexpected move, though, Huawei also took the opportunity to present its latest Porsche Design device dubbed the Huawei Mate 20 RS.

Clearly, it seems this smartphone has been designed with the Mate 20 Pro at its heart. After all, from the front, the two are essentially identical thanks to the same notched AMOLED display. However, as is typically the case with Porsche Design smartphones, some major changes have been made over on the rear. Namely, the popular design company has swapped out the Pro’s all-glass panel for a much more premium one that makes use of high-quality leather and a strip of glass down the middle. This black strip is home to the Huawei logo towards the bottom, the large Porsche Design badge in the center, and a triple-camera system up top that matches that of the Mate 20 Pro. On this offering, though, the camera bump has been removed entirely.

Just like the front design of this smartphone, the internals and features of the Mate 20 RS also resemble those of the Mate 20 Pro. However, the differentiating factor comes with the two possible storage configurations. As standard, the smartphone comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, but those wishing to spend a little extra can get their hands on 512GB instead.

Naturally, as this smartphone is designed in partnership with Porsche Design, the price tag isn’t exactly low. In actual fact, the base model costs a whopping €1,695 ($1960) in Europe. Those looking for the ultimate premium experience can, however, spend €2,095 ($2425) on the 512GB option.
