Nokia Dogphone is a prototype, not coming to market

Nokia Dogphone is a prototype, not coming to market
About a month ago, a bunch of codenames representing Nokia Windows Phone devices were revealed. Among them were the Nokia Fluid, Nokia Phi, and Nokia Dogphone. Now thanks to Nokia Innovation, we have reasons to believe that at least one of these devices is not coming to market.

It is said that the Nokia Dogphone is just a prototype device. In fact, that is supposedly the very same boxy Windows Phone handset Joe Belfiore used on stage while demoing Windows Phone 8. That is also the mysterious Windows Phone device that was spotted in the wild a week after the platform's unveiling.

Nokia Dogphone is a prototype, not coming to market
So that's one less upcoming Nokia Lumia to think about. That Nokia Phi, however, chances are we might see it being unveiled at Nokia World next month, and we are looking forward to checking it out first hand. If rumors are to be trusted, at least two Nokia Windows Phone 8 smartphones are to be announced during the event.

It should be Nokia who should take the lead in making WP8 phones. And not HTC or especially Samsung. HTC as they say is going to release a bunch of phones.. what is nokia doing ?? Samsung will kill 'em all :(

I agree with you.... People would go for Nokia rather than any other phone manufacturer.... if Nokia were to adopt android people were to buy Nokia over Samsung.... Just look at the recent quality built issues on the S3. As android users, we just have to stick with Samsung.

Thats the reason I let Nokia go a few years ago, they were just too stupid to stick with symbian and WindowsPhone. before that I never had anything but Nokia!

Agree, but I think that WP is not hopeless, not like a Symbian.

samsung is not as great as nokia.. even it is now the WORLD'S BIGGEST MANUFACTURER they cant sill achieve what nokia did to there phone!! in the world of windows phone NOKIA should and will be the #1 manufacturer while in android is is samsung but sony and motorola makes elegant phone than samsung.. i really dont know about htc.. i think they are better with android too and windows phone since they are the first who supported winmo against samsung and nokia..

prototype.test phone. they made it to see if WP8 works properly. Why would iphone sue them with a prototype.?

Haha, ya neutralguy is right, it is just a prototype...so it's not coming to market...but sadly, I think, if Apple could, they would.

Doubt the lawsuit would come. Apple and MS cross license each other's IP.

I wonder if the so-called Juggernaut Alpha is a Nokia device. That has me interested.

What the hell is Nokia wasted their money and time on a useless Dogphone concept. Nokia is already down and will gone from earth by wasted millions of dollars on useless devices.

Folks the Dog phone looks like a dead dog. Now if they put some chrome around the sides and chrome bands around the face of this smart phone it might not be bad looking but as it is now they should call it the homely phone for the the lost who no one wants to find ha ha ha!
