New iPad Pro (2018) case renders suggests Face ID is on board after all
Apple’s updated iPad Pro lineup has been rumored for quite some time now – way back in June we even envisioned what it could look like – and, after recently leaking out in a set of seemingly-legitimate renders, it has now popped up in what appears to be an official case render from UAG.

The image in question confirms that, just as expected, Apple’s updated iPad Pro lineup will follow in the footsteps of recent iPhones by adopting an all-screen design that does away with Apple’s iconic home button. However, unlike the company’s smartphones, there is no notch in sight. Instead, the new tablets will boast completely uniform bezels.

In addition to confirming the design, the image in question also appears to provide a glimpse at the new gesture-based UI. It’s unclear at this point if this is simply a custom background or if it’s an accurate representation of the upcoming UI. But if it is, the gesture navigation system appears to be identical to that of the iPhones.

Speaking of iPhones, this new case renders seems to suggest the new iPad Pro lineup will also borrow Face ID. This coincides with original CAD renders from back in September that appeared to depict the feature.

So far, Apple is yet to reveal when its new iPad Pro lineup will be announced. However, rumors are pointing towards an event on October 31. If this is the case, official invites should be sent out shortly.
