Leaked Motorola One Vision press render reveals all, display hole included

Kicking things off with a look at the smartphone’s front, the Motorola One Vision apparently boasts an extra-tall 21:9 LCD display which is accompanied by slim side bezels, a small chin, and more importantly no notch. To achieve the latter, Motorola has implemented a circular display cutout in the top-left corner of the panel – the implementation is similar to Samsung’s on the Galaxy S10 series – which houses the front-facing selfie camera.

According to previous leaks, the Motorola One Vision’s display will boast a large 6.2-inch diagonal. It should also feature a 2520×1080p resolution, although this detail is yet to be confirmed.

Other external features look set to include a USB Type-C port and a speaker along the bottom of the smartphone, a volume rocker and power key up the right side of the device, and the fan-favorite 3.5mm headphone jack on top of the Motorola One Vision.

Two rear cameras, Android One, and a headphone jack

Coinciding with previous leaks, today’s renders show a glass rear panel paired with a slight curve along the edges. Towards the bottom, the Motorola One Vision sports the expected Android One branding, while just above the center sits the Motorola logo, which should double as a rear fingerprint scanner.

In the top corner, the smartphone also features a vertically-aligned dual camera setup. The primary sensor, as shown by the printed details, sports a 48-megapixel resolution and optical image stabilization. However, as revealed by a previous leak, the Motorola One Vision's camera will default to taking 12-megapixel photos.

As for the second sensor, not much is known at the moment. But going by Motorola’s previous efforts, it’ll probably act as some sort of depth sensor designed to improve portrait photos. 

To accompany the cameras, Motorola has seemingly implemented a dual-tone LED flash. Moreover, the Chicago-based company is said to be working on two new features. The first, called ‘Long Exposure,’ should act as some kind of Night Mode for low-light photography. The second one remains a bit of a mystery but is called ‘3D HDR.’

Lots of storage and a large battery

Despite Motorola’s love for Snapdragon processors, the One Vision is set to be the brand’s first smartphone powered by a Samsung chip, more specifically the Exynos 9610. This was recently used inside the Galaxy A50 and can be compared to the Snapdragon 660 when it comes to performance thanks to its octa-core setup.

As revealed recently, a minimum of 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage will be present inside the Android One device. But if this isn’t sufficient, consumers should also be able to choose variants with 4GB of RAM and either 64GB or 128GB of storage.

On another note, it’s worth pointing out that the Motorola One Vision should ship with a 3,500mAh battery and support for Motorola’s Turbo Charge technology. Also, as expected from any Android One smartphone, stock Android 9 Pie should come pre-installed.

Motorola One Vision price, release date, and availability

Presumably, Motorola will announce the One Vision sometime next quarter. Once sales commence, it should be available in both Blue and Gold. As for where it'll be sold, the expectation is that it'll go on sale in Europe, Latin America, and even China where it’ll be marketed as the Motorola P40. A recent FCC listing indicated that a US launch is also on the cards.

At the moment, the Motorola One Vision’s pricing remains unconfirmed. But considering the Motorola One currently retails for $399.99 in the US, the new Motorola One Vision could easily target this same pricing segment.
