BlackBerry Porsche Design P'9983 Graphite comes to India priced at more than $1500 USD
Consumers in India are being asked to dig deep into their wallets if they want to purchase the BlackBerry Porsche Design P'9983 Graphite. The phone is priced in the country at the equivalent of $1535 USD. Some of the features you get for the money include a special back door cover made of hand-wrapped leather. Graphite colored elements on the phone explain why it is called the P'9983 Graphite. As usual with the Porsche Design models, the handset is designed by the automaker.

The BlackBerry Porsche Design P'9983 Graphite features a 3.1-inch Super AMOLED screen with a 720 x 720 resolution. That works out to a pixel density of 328ppi. With the huge physical QWERTY keyboard on the phone, the screen covers just 38.81% of the phone's body. The Snapdragon S4 (MSM8960) SoC is under the hood, carrying a dual-core 1.5GHz CPU and the Adreno 225 GPU. 2GB of RAM is inside along with 64GB of internal storage. For those requiring additional memory, a 128GB microSD slot is in place. An 8MP camera is on back, with a 2MP snapper in front. The lights are kept on thanks to the 2100mAh battery employed by the phone, and BlackBerry 10.3 is pre-installed.

The BlackBerry Porsche Design P'9983 Graphite comes with BlackBerry Assistant, BlackBerry Blend (which allows you to read content on your phone from a PC or tablet), BlackBerry Hub (allowing you to find all of your conversations in one spot) and a unique PIN number (2AAXXXXX) which identifies you as a Porsche Design owner.

The big question is, can BlackBerry find buyers willing to shell out more than $1500 for a phone with dated specs, in a country where Xiaomi is doing big business?
