Asus ZenFone 6 might be released in the US in July and you can already try to win one
The ZenFone 6 is the very latest high-end smartphone announced by Asus and it's officially coming to the US. Unfortunately, while customers in Europe and other markets can already buy the ZenFone 6, the handset is not yet ready for a North American release. The good news is that Asus is now allowing US and Canadian customers to enter a sweepstakes for the chance to win this new phone, while hinting at a time frame for its release.

To enter the ZenFone 6 sweepstakes, you have to visit the official Asus USA website here. To be eligible, you need to be a legal resident of the US (excluding Rhode Island) or Canada (excluding Quebec) and be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your state). Entries will be open until July 15, with the winner being selected via a random draw on  July 19. These dates suggest that July is the month when Asus plans to start selling the ZenFone 6 in North America, although we can't be fully sure of that yet.

Interesting notchless phone with long battery life

The Asus ZenFone 6 is an attractive handset with an edge-to-edge no-notch screen that measures 6.4 inches and has a decent 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution. The phone comes with an unconventional dual camera that normally sits on the back, but can rotate 180 degrees to act as a selfie snapper. Comprised of 42 MP and 13 MP (wide angle) cameras, the dual shooter of the ZenFone 6 takes 12 MP photos by default, utilizing a larger-than-usual pixel size that benefits low-light photography. You also have the option to shoot full 48 MP images, but pixel size is lower in this case, and you lose speed and HDR+ capabilities.

Another highlight of the ZenFone 6 is its generous 5000 mAh battery (with fast charging) that can last 2-3 days with regular use. This large battery makes the new ZenFone a bit thicker than most high-end phones out there (9.1 mm), but that's something that plenty of users may be more than okay with.

Like all other flagship Android handsets of 2019, the ZenFone 6 runs Android 9 Pie and is powered by Qualcomm's speedy Snapdragon 855 processor. The smartphone further offers up to 8 GB of RAM, up to 256 GB of expandable storage space, dual SIM support, stereo speakers, and a standard 3.5 mm headset jack. What you will not find on this device is dust and water resistance.

Asus ZenFone 6 price and US carrier compatibility

In the terms and conditions of its sweepstakes, Asus mentions that the value of a ZenFone 6 is $599. Almost certainly, this will be the handset's official US price, mirroring its European price of  €599. Mind you, $599 is likely going to be the price of the ZenFone 6 with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage space. There should also be variants with 6 GB of RAM plus 64 GB of storage space (costing $499), and with 6 GB of RAM plus 128 GB of storage space ($559). All variants will probably be sold unlocked, not just on Asus' website, but also via major retailers like Amazon and Best Buy.

Similar to its predecessor (ZenFone 5Z), the Asus ZenFone 6 will definitely be compatible with AT&T and T-Mobile, as well as with their prepaid brands - Cricket and Metro. At the moment, it's unclear if the handset will also work on Verizon and/or Sprint.
