The next Big Thing, Sony Ericsson's Xperia X10, gets video hands-on treatment
The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 is now ready to assume the title as "the next big thing" in the cellphone world. With a massive 4 inch display, the X10 is equipped with the personalized interface called UX that integrates both your social networks and media experiences on your home page. While the X10 matches the Motorola DROID's 480 X 854 resolution, it beats out the latter device by sporting an 8.1MP camera. The joint-venture's first Android device, the Xperia X10 is expected to launch with Android 1.6 with an upgrade down the road to the 2.0 build that is currently powering the DROID. The phone is expected to launch in February which leaves some more time for the media hype to build. We have already seen the Palm Pre fail to keep Palm out of trouble. On the other hand, the Motorola DROID seems to be giving the Schaumberg based company a new lease on life as a top notch phone manufacturer with a device that can be mentioned in the same sentence as Apple's iPhone. While certainly not in the dire situation that Palm and Motorola were facing, Sony Ericsson knows how important the Xperia X10 is to them; the joint venture has already called the handset its "flagship" model for 2010.

It is too big and too heavy to fit in my shirt pocket but may be it is normal for video media lovers.

Larger touch screens are really great while you're actually using it, but when it's in your pocket it can be a pain. I feel your pain.

This phone looks great. The screen is big, but still smaller than the touch HD2, plus it's camera is amazing and the design is beautiful. Can't wait to see a proper review!
