TV commercial for Boost Mobile's Motorola i1 pins a June 20 release

June is going to be one hot month for Android as a handful of devices like the HTC EVO 4G, T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide, and T-Mobile Garminfone are all set to make an arrival onto the scene showcasing some of the talent behind Android. Needless to say that the Motorola i1's unveiling with Boost Mobile may be a bit overshadowed, but one needs to consider in the factor that it'll be offered without a contract. It looks like June 20th is going to be the day that this rugged style Android powered smartphone will make its debut after a commercial that was aired during the Indianapolis 500 seemingly confirmed it. Now what's interesting about all of this is that this is going to be a pretty substantial win for the prepaid wireless carrier. Although it's price tag of $349.99 may look bloated over the subsidized prices issued on handsets by postpaid carriers, the savings can be found in the inexpensive monthly plan required for the handset. The Motorola i1 may not be the highest-end Android smartphone in the market, but its release can lay down the foundation for other high caliber handsets to follow.
