UPDATED: Samsung Galaxy S jets straight for the FCC
UPDATE: Taking another, closer look at the FCC profile of the Samsung Galaxy S I9000 revealed that this version of the handset actually supports the 1900MHz 3G band only, meaning it won't be offered by AT&T. You'll be able to use it with AT&T 3G, but it won't be sold by the carrier. Sorry, AT&T users. Still, the carrier might come up with its own version of the super hot smartphone, who knows?

UPDATED: Samsung Galaxy S jets straight for the FCC
AT&T's foray into Android may not have been as compelling as Verizon's when you compare the two Motorola devices that were showcased for their launches. Luckily for those AT&T customers who decided to wait out and resisted going with AT&T's first Android offering, they might be treated to the recently unveiled Samsung Galaxy S that can truly hold its own ground among the high-end Android offerings out there. The device was awarded its certification by the FCC and was seen having support for AT&T's 850/1900MHz bands – 3G goodness looks to be intact. Sure there is the Nexus One that AT&T customers may also be eying at the same time, but with the possible reality of the Samsung Galaxy S hitting our shores, some may be more enticed thanks to its impressive specs that easily rivals the Nexus One. Don't start celebrating yet until AT&T officially announces that they are truly indeed going to snatch up this handset – it would add that much needed recognition into their Android lineup.

It pretty much means that it's probably gonna be available for AT&T. It would make sense since AT&T is behind with Android phones and they probably want a good one for their service.

Only supports 1 band of UMTS 1900MHz meaning that even if AT&T decides to use this phone, a consumer will likely to see the 3G signal missing majority of the time.
