Nokia announces its very first map loader for Maemo devices
Nokia N900 owners have something coming to them that might come in handy in certain driving situations – the Nokia Maps Teams announced its very first release of Nokia Map Loader for maemo. Essentially what it allows owners to do is sideload maps into a maemo powered device directly from the Nokia Maps server through a computer as opposed to doing it over the air – which basically becomes pointless when you bump into a dead spot and get zero connection to the network. On top of that, users will also be saving some money on their data services; as downloading a detailed map can become lengthy and costly depending on what your specific plan offers. Map Loader also allows you to download an entire map of a country or just a specific portion of it – saving you the time and headaches of waiting patiently for it to complete. In order to get the Nokia Map Loader onto your maemo device, owners will simply need to download the application onto their PC first and then go on to download their specific maps – eventually transferring it to the device.

Yeah, how about updating the whole thing to Ovi Maps with Navigation?
