Lode Runner X makes its way as an exclusive title for the Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY

Giving a modern spin on a classic game, Lode Runner X from Tozai Games is an exclusive new title that’s gracing the gaming centric Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY. In fact, this is the first time we’re seeing the acclaimed console game being ported over to a mobile platform.
Using the same mechanics found with the classic gaming franchise “Lode Runner,” it’s obviously going to attract those consumers who grew up playing the game – and maybe, it might get today’s kids out of their usual run and gun 3D first person shooters. Of course, the graphics and visuals have been updated to keep up with the times, while offering that nostalgic feel to its overall game play.
Tim Harrison, Head of Content & Marketing Strategy for Sony Ericsson, said, “Xperia PLAY is a unique Android smartphone that sets a new standard in mobile gameplay and we are committed to bringing more exclusive content to the device. Lode Runner is a franchise with great resonance in the gaming community, so we are particularly looking forward to bringing this brand new and exclusive version to Xperia PLAY.”

It's nice to see some developers see the potential in the device, but the device itself needs a major overhaul. Better specs, better battery, and slimmer.
It was a good first attempt, but it needs a lot of work. It also needs a lot more PS1 titles.
