Fruit Ninja for Android gets a free, ad-supported version; let the fruit slashing begin!
Fruit Ninja is a game that should not be downloaded and played if you have an important work project or a college exam ahead of you. Why? Well, it is because you are likely to spend more time playing it rather than working on your assignments.

However, it seems like the super addictive video game is trying to slam another nail in productivity's coffin as a free version of Fruit Ninja for Android has just been made available. There will be advertisements popping up every once in a while, yet fortunately, they will not interfere with your fruit-slashing as they will be displayed only in between rounds.

The game gives you three different playing modes – Classic, Zen, and the much anticipated Arcade mode, which adds Freeze, Frenzy and Double Score power-ups that take the action to a whole different level. New blades and backgrounds can be unlocked in the Dojo section, and your high scores can be uploaded online via Openfeint for the whole world to see.

The free version of Fruit Ninja requires Android 2.1 or above, and if you want to check it out, simply get it from the Android market on your handset or follow the source link below.

I was lucky enough to catch this game for free on the amazon appstore a while back. Its definitely one of the better games found on the market. I find this more entertaining than "over-hyped" angry birds.
