i did the leaked update and it worked great!!!!it does wipe all your data but as long as you do a backup, you are good to go.. this is an official update, your phone does not need to be rooted..download the file, plug your phone in, run the .exe and you are sporting 2.1 in 20mins.. because the hero already had 7 home screens and sense, the best part is being able to access all of the app store..plus all the new pretty icons make it sort of feel like a new phone..at least i have it for a month before dateline htc evo 4g.. fyi, i got a pre with my rebate the day it came out, traded it for a hero about 4 months later, i am a premier sprint user and my rebate is do june 10th..how awsome is that.. good luck!!!

Thanks, I was surfing the web at work and wasn't sure if the download icon wasn't popping up for some reason.

I downloaded this RUU, it took about 10 minutes to update, and it is perfect! I have been running it all day and absolutely no issues. Unless the final release has live wallpapers (which I know it doesn't) then I will not be updating it again. Now all I need is root because I'm sure the Hero will never see Froyo.
