T-Mobile feels left out, joins iPhone XS/XS Max BOGO party with 'BOGO Squared'

T-Mobile feels left out, joins iPhone XS/XS Max BOGO party with 'BOGO Squared'
T-Mobile made a couple of announcements on the heels of the iPhone XS, XS Max, XR, and Apple Watch Series 4 launch on Wednesday, quickly confirming all four devices would be sold by the “Un-carrier”, then detailing the full pricing structure and officially kicking off pre-orders at 12:01 am PT earlier today.

But even though the nation’s third-largest wireless service provider introduced a (semi-) decent $300 trade-in deal right off the bat, its “generosity” was overshadowed by BOGO-type discounts available at both Verizon and AT&T.

In response, it didn’t take T-Mo long to one-up its rivals, unveiling a promotion marketed as an “iPhone BOGO squared.” That sounds a little better than it actually is, basically combining the same exact $700 BOGO markdown offered by Verizon and AT&T with a free voice line.

The terms and conditions are somewhat ambiguous, but apparently, you have until Thursday, September 20, at midnight to get both $700 off a second iPhone and an “additional” complimentary service line... with an eligible T-Mobile ONE 2+ voice plan.

You can obviously mix and match the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, X, 8, and 8 Plus however you like, but the product the $700 discount will apply to must be of equal or lesser value than the first.

For example, you can pay for an iPhone XS and receive an iPhone 8 free of charge. Or only pay $300 for a backup XS. Or get an iPhone XS Max, and a second 64GB XS Max at $400 instead of $1,100. Just keep in mind you’ll need to agree to monthly device payment plans for both handsets, with the $700 savings available as 24 equal bill credits. That’s pretty standard stuff at this point, but it’s still nice to see T-Mobile join the iPhone XS BOGO party.

These carriers know Apple's pricing is utterly ridiculous for what you get, and are trying to entice people to buy, cause some know it's not worth it straight up. So much money for so little innovation and new featurez Apple...rip thoze sheepz off

Lololol....chill bro. They will come after you. Don't rile them up. On topic, these BOGO deals are unprecedented for an Iphone and the carriers are doing all they can to ensure they get the money back that they paid in order to sell these devices. Let see which carrier sells more. Should be interesting.

What's crazy is how the iflock comes to the Samsung BOGO articles, and hammers Samsung, now Apple's got them for phones that aren't even out yet.

Apple is also involved in these deals as well. The dam iPhones were just released for crying out loud. Especially when there is such a huge markup on all these iPhones to begin with.

Ordering iphone Xs Max 512gb and series 4 stainless steel here. You are Butthurt for iphone prices. If you can’t afford then don’t buy, stop complaining about prices. Its a luxury phone and should be expensive. Its not just an android where you can choose thousands of cheap phones. Get Note 9 instead if u think you can have a value of ur thousand bucks. There’s nothin like iOS. Only iphone has it. The iphone X cost $999 last year and so iphone Xs now. Since Max has bigger display, naturally they would add bucks. And still, people will buy this phone because its not a garbage android!

I could buy both cash or credit right now, paid in full, I just dont want to. The 2018 iPhone isnt worth the money, especially the Max. Why do you keep misusing butthurt in a sentence lol. You sound so stupid dude. That post is not how you use butt hurt...c'mon iBruh The iPhone isnt a luxury dummy, it's on BOGO already lol, and I already have a Note 9, and an iPhone X, that just like the new iPhone X...hmmm. You really typed that stupid post LMAOOOOOO

People who buy something just because they can afford it, are the same people who live pay check to pay check. Financially well off and stable people know how to take care of their money and understand that even if they can afford something, it just isnt worth it sometimes. Think about wanting a Hershey bar and walking up to a store only to find out that a regular bar now costs $20. Sure you can afford it, but youd have enough sense not to buy it, wouldn't you? Same thing applies to all purchases. The fact that you think iphones are luxury devices and use the "if you dont want to pay 'x' for something, it's because you cant afford it" logic, gives it away that you belong to the pay check to pay check category.

Well said man. I could easily by an X Max cash...easily, buy I feel I'd be paying $1600 for a subpar device. The Note 9 is fat better, and cost much less.

You pay 1000 USD for device that is designed to spy on you (Android). I pay 1000 USD for a device (Xs) that keeps my privacy (iOS).

I don’t think so. Why has Google created Android? For charity? For sure not. Via Android, Google learns everything about you. And then Google commercializes this information. Apple might be collecting data about you too but I assume less than Google. But for sure Apple is not commercializing the data.

"You pay 1000 USD for device that is designed to spy on you (Android). I pay 1000 USD for a device (Xs) that keeps my privacy (iOS)." No it doesn't, Apple knows every move you make and everything you do on that device. How is that keeping your privacy? They track you just as much as Google track Android users, only difference is that Apple doen't serve you ads (yet).

Luxury item is just hilarious. Half of America has an iPhone, there is nothing unique or luxurious about a product that is widely available for everyone. Even those on government assistance unable to feed themselves are walking around with a financed iPhone.

In US if one carrier does that every other have to follow, every carrier want these sales so the competition of these amazing phones is very strong. They know the demand is huge and they want to be part of that, just like last year with X.

That silly ass excuse ain't gonna fly here boy. Carriers know that these crappy ass phones is not much different from the crappy version before them. Apple will sell a few, but gone are the days when sheep line up in droves to buy these tarsh.

Say what you want iMidan, but even someone as blind and hypnotized as you are by Apple should know this is a subpar release, weakened by unbelievably unnecessary high pricing. Now the Apple Watch is a different story, and was actually the highlight of the show. I actually plan to get one for my X. The phone of the year, is the Samsung Galaxy Note 9. I rock the 512 gig Ocean Blue, with a 256 gig Samsung Evo Plus SD card. Do the gig math bruh.

Nope bro, I'm good. I needed to see split screen, picture in picture and pencil support. Not getting those, on top of the outrageous pricing was all I needed to decide no. No more phones for me, that dont do true multitasking. I'll pass.

He speaks the truth sis, love his reviews. He’s an Apple fan, and chose the Note 9 over the Max.

Let's be real here for a moment. I've been looking at Android alternatives. Something cheaper from a company I somewhat trust, that is comparable. Here's a rundown : LG G7ThinQ $750 Galaxy S9 $625 Xperia XZ3 $899 Google Pixel 2 64GB $759 (last year's phone with an 835) Really the only 'value' high end android phone out there that competes effectively is the S9, and it looks to me like those prices just dropped ~$150 in the last day. Unfortunately, if you want a high end phone it will cost a lot, unless you are ok with dodgy brands who don't keep up with security updates or worse have malware on the phone out of the box (See Kryptowire article).

But, but, but only phones that don't sell well do BOGOS, and, and... Apple is too cool to allow it. /s

Hahaha. They got shamed into matching the competition.
