Because it's not always as easy to anticipate when a company like Samsung might be planning to unveil new wireless earbuds as an upgraded high-end handset family, today's Dealabs report (translated here) on the Galaxy Buds 4 and Galaxy Buds 4 Pro delivers good news on two fronts.
On one hand, the (European) prices of those two 2026 AirPods alternatives are purportedly no longer a mystery, and on the other, the fact this information is out of the bag now strongly suggests an official announcement is right around the corner.
Here's how much the Galaxy Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro are expected to cost
€179 and €249, respectively. Is that a lot of money in US currency? Unfortunately, yes, but obviously, there's no reason to expect Samsung's next-gen earbuds to be priced at $215 and $300, respectively.
Instead, the best way to analyze those projected European tags is to compare them to the recommended prices of the Galaxy Buds 3 and Galaxy Buds 3 Pro back at their 2024 release in the same part of the world. And guess what, €179 and €249 is precisely how much the Galaxy Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro's predecessors used to cost on the old continent.
Samsung's next-gen earbuds look pretty different from their predecessors in these leaked images.
That means there's a very good chance that the $179 and $249 price points in the US will also go unchanged, which is clearly good news in an industry that's going through some pretty tough times as far as component costs are concerned.

Of course, a price cut would have been even better, but with the Galaxy Buds 3 FE available at $149.99, it's hard to imagine how Samsung could have pulled something like that off without disturbing the "coherence" of the entire product portfolio.
For now, no one knows an awful lot about the features and capabilities of the undoubtedly impending Galaxy Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro, although a revised design was practically set in stone months ago and things like improved sound quality and battery life are more or less a given.
Do you think you'll buy Samsung's next earbuds?
Both products are expected to come in black and white colorways, and while a very interesting-sounding Apricot option is also tipped for the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro, that could be kept exclusive to the official Samsung Store and/or only certain markets.
Could this all mean... anything for the Galaxy S26 family?
While I wouldn't bet the house just yet on this, I believe it's relatively safe to expect the Galaxy Buds 4 and Galaxy Buds 4 Pro to be formally unveiled alongside the Galaxy S26, S26 Plus, and S26 Ultra phones next month and then commercially released in March.

More importantly than that, the unchanged price tags of these next-gen AirPods rivals could signal the same will happen with the Galaxy S26 series after all. The two don't have to be correlated, of course, but I think it's going to be even harder for Samsung to justify a potential S26 price hike over the S25 family if the Galaxy Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro are not costlier than their own forerunners.
The S26 trio, remember, has been rumored by some sources to retain the prices of the Galaxy S25 trio around the world, while others are expecting increases across the board at least in certain markets.
Although today's news doesn't mention the Galaxy S26 roster in (almost) any way, I'm choosing to view it as promising for not just the Galaxy Buds 4 duo, but Samsung's next big handsets as well.
Is this launch schedule the best idea?
Well, why not? Just because the Galaxy Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro were unveiled in July 2024, the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro in August 2022, and the Galaxy Buds 2 in August 2021, that doesn't mean Samsung needs to stick to a summer schedule for its true wireless earbuds until the end of time.

And if you're wondering if it's wise to announce the Galaxy Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro together with three hugely anticipated phones that are guaranteed to make all the headlines and capture everyone's attention, it's still possible that the earbuds will come out a little earlier than the Galaxy S26 family.
That's something Samsung has done a few times in the past, and if the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro were to bring something truly groundbreaking to the table to go up against Apple's heart rate-monitoring AirPods Pro 3, a standalone announcement would definitely be fitting.
