Detailed Pixel 11 series leak suggests the situation is worse than expected

The Pixel 11 could cost more and offer less than before.

It's the Pixel 11 launch month, but rumors haven't given us much to get excited about. On top of that, Google has already confirmed that the new devices will cost more than last year's models. For anyone hoping for a pleasant surprise, a report from Android Headlines detailing the complete specs and pricing has dashed those hopes.

Hardly any changes

All four devices will be powered by the Tensor G6 chip, which rumors say will be the first chip built on TSMC's 2nm process.

Pixel 11

The standard Pixel 11 model will mostly be identical to the Pixel 10, except for a few changes. The battery gets a slight trim to 4,985mAh, which shaves the phone's weight from 204 grams to 197 grams. The telephoto camera has been removed.

The base storage has been increased from 128GB to 256GB, with a 512GB model also available. In addition to 12GB, a 16GB RAM version will also be available.

The US price jumps from $799 to $899, while European buyers can expect a €999 price tag.

Pixel 11 Pro

The Pixel 11 Pro follows a similar script. The battery capacity decreases from 4,870mAh to 4,850mAh, trimming weight from 207 grams to 204 grams.

The Pixel 10 Pro starts with 128GB of storage and goes all the way up to 1TB, and 16GB of RAM is standard. The Pixel 11 Pro comes in 12GB and 16GB RAM variants, while capping storage options at 256GB and 512GB.

Pricing will start at $1,099 (up $100) and €1,199 in Europe.

Pixel 11 Pro XL

Yes, there seems to be a pattern here. The bigger Pro model will also come in 12GB and 16GB variants. Its weight drops from 232 grams to 226 grams, while the battery capacity slips from 5,200mAh to 5,115mAh.

Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold

You know the drill by now: an added 12GB tier, a weight drop from 258 grams to 239 grams, and a smaller 4,806mAh battery. Pricing shoots up to $1,899 in the US and €1,999 in Europe.

Where's the appeal?

While earlier leaks warned us to keep expectations low, the situation now seems more dire. However, that might be because the leak focuses on core hardware specs without going into details. For instance, while the camera resolution might remain the same, the Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL could get new sensors for the primary and telephoto cameras.

Another attraction is expected to be a new Pixel Glow notifications feature. Face Unlock might also be upgraded.

The takeaway

Even if every rumored upgrade pans out, the Pixel 11 family faces an uphill battle against other flagships. The devices will likely continue to lean heavily on AI, but that might do little to justify the higher prices.
