Pixel 11 Pro may have several internal upgrades. | Image by Android Headlines
We’ve already seen renders of the Pixel 11, including the Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro Fold, which didn’t include any significant design changes. Now, a new leak reveals that Google may be preparing significant internal changes, including a disappointing downgrade.
The Pixel 11 series is getting new cameras
Google has several new camera sensors it may use across the different Pixel 11 models, according to a new report from Telegram leaker Mystic Leaks. One of the sensors, which may end up on the “vanilla” Pixel 11 and the Pixel 11 Pro Fold, has a code name “chemosh,” and it is likely to be a new 50MP sensor.

Meanwhile, the Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL could feature two new sensors with unknown specifications. One of those has a codename “bastet” and may end up on the main camera, while the other is called “barghest” and could be meant for the telephoto camera.
Many intriguing details

One of the highlights from the new leak is that Google may ditch the temperature sensor with the Pixel 11 series and replace it with the rumored “Pixel Glow” feature. That feature is described in the new leak as similar to the Glyph feature on Nothing phones, with an AI-generated mockup showing LED lights on the camera bar.
Another intriguing detail is that the Pixel 11 Pro Fold may have a version with 12GB RAM instead of the 16GB we’ve been getting so far. That could be another disappointing specs downgrade meant to keep the base price of a smartphone unchanged.
There’s also a claim that Google’s Face ID alternative may not appear on this year’s Pixels. The previously rumored “Project Toscana” is not going on schedule, and it may not be ready for a release.
Even more details about Pixel 11’s Tensor G6 chipset have leaked

We’ve already heard some of the major details about Google’s new Tensor G6 application process. The chip will come with at least several major changes, according to new details shared by leaker Mystic Leaks.
As previously reported, the Tensor G6 will be a septa-core chipset running on a 1+4+2 configuration, which strays from the usual configurations with six or eight cores. The chip will be built on the TSMC N2 node, seeing a move from Samsung’s foundry, which could be good news.
These seven cores will include a single ARM C1 Ultra Prime Core at 4.11GHz, four C1-Pro Performance Cores humming at 3.38GHz, and a couple of C1-Pro Efficiency Cores clocked at 2.65GHz. We’re also getting another confirmation for the PowerVR C-Series CXTP-48-1536 GPU.
Google is also leaving Samsung to use the MediaTek M90 (MT6986D) modem. Alongside an updated Titan M3 security chip, the company may also have a new TPU with the codename Santafe and a new GXP, or image signal processor, called Metis, which is probably related to the camera changes.

Looking promising
While some of the key parts of the Pixel 11 may not change much, including the design and the battery capacity, there’s enough to get excited about Google’s new phones. It’s a rare thing to see new camera hardware on Pixels, and the updated TPU could power some intriguing on-device AI features.
Expected shortly before the iPhone 18 Pro and long-overdue AI upgrades to iOS 27, the Pixel 11 could have what it takes to truly challenge Apple’s best phones.
