If you're looking at your calendar and officially starting to panic that you won't be able to find everything you need for all the important people in your life (at the right prices) before Christmas, a killer new Best Buy deal could lift a massive weight off your shoulders today.

You do have to hurry here, mind you, and not just because we're less than three weeks away from the big day, but also because the retailer plans to pull the plug on its latest $250 Surface Pro 12 discount at the end of today.

If the price cut sounds familiar, it's probably because Best Buy ran an identical promotion for Black Friday recently, which of course doesn't make the new deal any less attractive for bargain hunters who missed their first opportunity to save big on one of the greatest tablets around.

Normally priced at $899.99, the latest addition to the Surface Pro family costs $649.99 right now with a decent 256 gigs of internal storage space, an impressive 16GB RAM count, and a keyboard bundled in, thus undercutting devices as diverse as Samsung's 11-inch Galaxy Tab S11 (in an entry-level 128GB storage configuration with only 12 gigs of RAM on deck) and Apple's 13-inch iPad Air (M3) with a modest 128 gigs of local digital hoarding room of its own (and obviously, no keyboard included).

Naturally, that means the 2025-released 12-inch Surface Pro is a lot cheaper than the likes of the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra and the new 11 and 13-inch iPad Pros as well, which makes this quite possibly the best value proposition in the tablet market today.

In addition to a whole lot of memory, the compact, relatively lightweight, and slender Windows tablet has, well, Windows productivity going for it too, not to mention extraordinary battery life (up to 16 hours of local video playback between charges, to be exact), an undeniably pretty PixelSense LCD screen, and two USB-C ports for an added touch of versatility and convenience compared to most other slates on the market in 2025.

If you're a hardcore Microsoft fan, you probably already know that you can do even better than this latest Surface Pro edition (in terms of raw power, at least) with its snappier and larger 13-inch predecessor, but not at $649.99.
