This year is the year of widescreen (or should we call them tall-screen?) smartphones. Samsung's 18.5:9 Infinity Display, LG's 18:9... well, display, and Apple's supposed 18:9 ratio on the iPhone 8
are about to cement this. It's also the year when manufacturers went to war against the screen bezel. With these trends currently still being hot, you might be a bit disappointed by Sony's new top-tier XZ1 phones... and their bezels. But hold on! Let us remind you that Sony actually had phones with nearly no side bezels before — the Xperia XA
line. Its latest entries were the Xperia XA1
and XA1 Ultra
earlier this year, but hey — it has been 6 months... so Sony did what Sony does and added a new member to the family!
The Xperia XA1 Plus
rocks thin bezels, midrange hardware, and a rather large battery. In true Sony fashion, it's a stark rectangle and despite having nearly no bezels to the sides, you may notice that the handset still appears like it has a huge "chin" and "forehead". So, how does it compare in size to the modern designs of today? Let's take a quick gander!
