Meizu invitation for November 30th event says "Make Helio Great Again"; M5 Note could be unveiled
On Monday, Meizu disseminated invitations for an event it will hold on November 30th. We're not sure why Meizu felt the need to rip off U.S. President-Elect Donald Trump, but the invites say "Make Helio Great Again." Trump of course, rode his line "Make America Great Again" all the way to the White House. Mentioning Helio in the invitation does give away the name of at least one device that we will see unveiled at the event.
The invitation is pointing to the introduction of the Meizu M5 Note, a premium version of the entry-level Meizu M5. The latter was introduced at the end of last month, priced at just over $100. According to information gleaned from a run through of the AnTuTu benchmark test, powering the M5 Note is the Helio P10 chipset (MT6755M). That would explain the reference in the invitation to making Helio great again. The unit will come with an octa-core CPU and the Mali-T860 GPU.
If you were hoping that the Meizu Pro 7 would be made official this year, forget it. Apparently, unnamed Meizu officials say that the high-end model won't be announced until some time next year. During the weekend, we showed you some sketches of the Pro 7 that showed it with a dial-curved edged screen, looking quite similar to an image of the handset that appeared in August. It looked nothing like the full screen model with the nearly 100% glass-to-body-ratio that was rumored to be the Pro 7 and was reportedly set to be unveiled on December 24th.
Another phone that Meizu might introduce on November 30th is the Blue Charm X. The retail box for the handset leaked this morning. You can find pictures of Meizu's invitation along with the Blue Charm X box in the slideshow below.

The rest of the rumored specs for the Meizu M5 Note include 3GB of RAM and 32GB of native storage. The rear camera and front-facing selfie snapper weigh in at 13MP and 5MP respectively. While the screen size is unknown, the resolution will be 1080 x 1920, and Android 6.0 will be pre-installed. Images of the phone surfaced last week.
