Meet the newest Windows Phone 8.1 handset: the Yezz Billy 5S LTE

Meet the newest Windows Phone 8.1 handset: the Yezz Billy 5S LTE
Miami-based Yezz this week announced a new Windows Phone handset called Yezz Billy 5S LTE. Obviously featuring LTE connectivity, the Billy 5S LTE is the third Windows Phone device from Yezz. Last year, the company released the Billy 4.7 and Billy 4.0, both of which are smaller than the new model.

Sporting a 5-inch display with 720 x 1280 pixels, the Billy 5S LTE is a mid-range device that runs Windows Phone 8.1. As you can see in the images included below, the handset has a funky back cover that gives it a distinct look. The new smartphone is powered by a quad-core 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 410 processor (or at least the versions made for the US market is), while also offering 1 GB of RAM, and 8 GB of internal memory. Other features include dual SIM capabilities, Bluetooth 4.0, 13 MP rear camera, and a 5 MP front-facing camera.

Just like the other two Windows Phone-based Yezz handsets, the Billy 5S LTE will most likely be pretty cheap. At the moment, we don’t know when the new smartphone will be released. However, Yezz is showcasing it at CES 2015, and we assume we’ll get the chance to check it out live and find out more about its availability.

The name is an homage to Bill Gates. That's straight from Yezz CEO Luis Sosa's mouth.

I don't get why companies still make windows phones. They simply don't sell.

They simply dont sell?, lol. Windows Phones sells more than many Android OEMs, last quarter Windows Phone sold 10.5 million devices. Over the holidays behind Apple and Samsung Lumias devices alone from Windows phone smartphones were the third best selling devices. That's more than LG, HTC and other Android OEMs but yet according to you they dont sell. Not surprised the troll below me has already commented with his daily negativity, Johnny Cash would be so ashamed.

The entirety of WP only sold 10.5 million for the quarter? Thats nothing to brag about. And didn't LG alone sell more than 10.5 million handsets?

You guys still getting free hand jobs from Microsoft daily? You should switch to Apple. Tim Cook's into giving handjobs to dudes as well and your app store would have more stuff to download....

Yep. We get them for free 'cause that's how we roll. Why? Are you still having to pay for yours? That's a shame you can't get nothing on your own.

When did the iPhone 4 have a 5" display? Come to think of it, when did it have 720p resolution or LTE? Nice try troll.

I don't know who this Flanders fellow is but if I were him I'd tell you to blow me. If you can't run with the big dogs keep your sorry ass on the porch. I love it when a thin-skinned troll-girl gets her panties in a bunch.

You Windows guys are really into blowing each other...kind of funny. What do you know about porches, anyway, kid. Do you finally have one on your mud hut?

Kid? I got grey hairs on my nuts older than you. So you're aware, the only porch I visit is the one at your mama's trailer. Now go inside and get daddy a beer.

You play with a Windows phone, nobody in the real world takes you seriously, especially considering you're a wannabe internet warrior.

Looks nice… oh, wait… looks like any other windows phone, including phones released 3 years ago!

Now why can't android manufacturers do funky designs like that? Samsung and rest are always going for boring flat back designs.

Although Windows smart phones do not sell well in China or the United States they do sell well enough on a World wide basis for Microsoft and others to keep selling them. as a Microsoft insider in through my use of Windows 10 technical Preview on a computer I use. I did inform Microsoft that they needed to REFRESH the LOOK of their UI'S Tiles by rounding off the 4 corners of the tiles or slightly curving out the four sides of Microsoft's UI's Tiles because lots of People do not like the Industrial look of the present tiles shape they use today. so far there is no indication they will take my advice. I warned Microsoft they needed to do this because People are Funny they are more likely to buy what looks good than what has good technology. I prefer Windows tiles that can update information within them more than pretty little ICONs on a screen that do nothing. I am not alone !
