Galaxy S7 CAD-based renders reiterate a thicker, more rectangular design, and a tapered back

The grand Galaxy S7 unveiling is fast approaching, it seems, as more and more specifics are trickling down the rumor pipe, some believable, some not so much. The latest in these installments are CAD schematics, allegedly obtained from a connected case maker. The source claims that they have combined these new blueprints that reveal different dimensions than similar leaks before, with the freshest tips about the exterior of the future S7, resulting in the 3D render of the S7 that you can see below.

At first, a tip from such a second tier case maker not long ago pegged its dimensions as 143.37 x 70.8 x 6.94 mm, or about as large as the S6, but now the phone is pictured to be slightly shorter and narrower, yet thicker. The new numbers actually give a more credible nuance to the latest rumor that the phone will be slightly chubbier than the S6, but host a larger battery, and take design cues from the Note 5, introducing a more rectangular chassis, and tapered rear edges. In fact, we recently had a tip that sent us the alleged front panel of the device, which reiterates the more rectangular design suggested here as well.

The Note 5 resemblance would be a good feat, as Samsung's current top phone is a champion in the screen-to-body ratio department at its respective display size, so hopefully this could be replicated with the S7 as well. Whatever the story turns out to be in the end, check out these new Galaxy S7 renders here, and tell us what you think about them.
