T-Mobile silently makes a change customers will appreciate

While it remains to be seen if SpaceX will make good on its threat to build a terrestrial network to counter the Big Three, for now, its partnership with T-Mobile is going strong. Apart from texting, the two have optimized certain apps to work with light data. The list of the supported apps has apparently grown quietly.

T-Mobile's official list mentions the 27 apps that are T-Satellite-ready. Apparently, the list has unofficially grown, with Discord, Signal, and LINE also supported. Signal has supposedly been working since January.
Don't get your hopes up
Those three appear to be the only apps for which support has been added. The Mobile Report says other commonly used apps, such as Telegram, Waze, Kik, WeChat, and Snapchat, were also tested but were found not to work.
If you have a Samsung phone, you can check for the compatible apps by launching Settings, navigating to Connection, and tapping on Satellite. You'll see a list of supported apps, but only if the satellite feature is enabled on your plan.
On other devices, you'll have to check each app individually for compatibility.
Why do you think T-Mobile didn't announce the change?
T-Mobile downplaying the service
T-Mobile is the only carrier in the US to offer wide-scale satellite connectivity. Logic dictates that it should announce the expansion of support to assert its superiority over AT&T and Verizon, which are stuck waiting for their partner AST SpaceMobile to deploy a comparable feature.
T-Mobile's silence comes not long after its continued efforts to undermine the feature, claiming it accounts for 0.0002% of the network traffic. AT&T has been similarly dismissive.
Despite that, the two have teamed up with Verizon on a satellite connectivity initiative.
Power of SpaceX's product
While it's entirely possible that T-Mobile doesn't want to update the list one app at a time, given the current environment, the company seems to be drawing attention away from T-Satellite. After all, the feature is underpinned by SpaceX's tech, a company that might soon become its adversary.
