While it's not unheard of for in-the-wild photos of top Android handsets to leak before its official launch, the closest we usually get to an upcoming iPhone are dummy unit photos. That has changed this year, with a security breach at Indian supplier Tata Electronics responsible for our first real-world look at the iPhone 18 Pro.
The drop test

One leaked clip, shared by X account @evleaks, showcases an iPhone 18 Pro undergoing an internal durability drop test.
This is easily the biggest leak in Apple's history. You're looking at the drop test of the iPhone 18 Pro. Durability seems solid, but it's still surprisingly thick, and the weight remains a concern. The new color looks pretty good, though. The real star this year is the iPhone… pic.twitter.com/0GyJZ5CxaB

The iPhone 18 Pro may have the same overall design as the current model, but Apple has allegedly tucked a few subtle changes here and there. For instance, the camera units are ever so slightly larger, taking up more space on the camera plateau and protruding a bit further.
The gap between the back glass cutout and the camera bump appears to have shrunk, but the difference is so minute that it's hard to make out.
The color matching between the glass and aluminum frame looks more seamless than last year.
How does the iPhone 18 Pro look?
A first time for everything
Android fans are used to seeing full-fledged unboxing videos and reviews weeks before a phone is officially announced.
Apple has historically guarded its products better, but as they say, there's a first time for everything.
Along with the drop test video, other details have also leaked, including component schematics, chip details, and battery and camera parts.

The drop tests are timestamped to early 2026, meaning the device seen in the images is more likely to be a prototype than the final unit.
A blow
The possible impending price hike has already cast a gloom over the iPhone 18 Pro launch. A detailed leak was the last thing Apple needed, given that it has laid everything bare. Apple recently bumped up prices on all product categories except for the iPhones. After looking at these leaks, some customers might choose to purchase one of the older models to avoid paying up to $300 more for a barely different iPhone 18 Pro.
