Apple iPhone 7
Later this week, Apple is expected to unveil a whole range of brand-new products including new iPhones, the next-generation Apple Watch, updated MacBooks, and few other extras. And with just two days to go before the event, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has made one final educated prediction.
Starting off with Apple’s 6.1-inch iPhone, Kuo expects the lower-cost model to make up around 55% of all iPhone shipments throughout the remaining months of 2018, this is despite an earlier report that claimed only limited quantities would be available initially. Moreover, sales of this device are expected to continue dominating throughout 2019 and may even account for just under 70% of all sales during the first half of 2019.
Elsewhere in Apple’s product lineup, the analyst expects the Apple Watch Series 4 to include much narrower bezels that will result in a much larger display with a higher resolution. On a separate design note, all Apple Watch Series 4 models are expected to ship with ceramic rears. When it comes to the feature list, proactive suggestions from Siri based on daily activities will now be included and, in the hope of improving heart monitoring, electrocardiography will be supported.
Completing Apple’s 2018 lineup will be two new iPad Pro models that will include new all-screen designs and faster charging and data transmission speeds thanks to a USB Type-C port. Moreover, a new low-cost MacBook model complete with TouchID will be announced and will reportedly replace the MacBook Air and existing MacBook. Lastly, a new set AirPods will likely be announced alongside the final release date of the AirPower wireless charger.

iOS device with USB C? Hah, I'll believe when I see but Kuo has almost always been right. This could be interesting, Lightning needs to die

Most likely it's just talking about a USBC charger and a USBC cable with a lightning end. Apples proprietary lightning is a cash cow for Apple, plus it gives them total control over the iPhone. They don't have pay anyone to license USBC on their iPhones.

Expect huge backorders. This is something we are accustomed by Apple. This happens to no other company rather than Apple. Why is that?

Couple of things missing in this article that needs to be highlighted: - USB C i/o might be limited to the power adapters and not the actual iPad. - Kuo mentioned iPhone will only have 5W power brick which might piss a lot of Apple fans like myself. I pray that iPads will genuinely have usb-c as their main port and Apple will first include a fast charger in box. Also please sell dual sim phones in the US as well. That way when we travel we will have the best of everything.

This keynote is gonna be crazy. If I do decide to buy the 6.5 inch model, I’ll wait till November probably, that thing will be back ordered till at least then. My plan is to snatch one off Craigslist or OfferUp, if preorders are too back logged. Living in Vegas isn’t kind for iPhone preordering, since the east coast, and mid west have a 3 and 2 hr order window respectively. It’s gotta have my big 3 though, split view, picture in picture, and Pencil support. My iPad 12.9 Pro, and Note 9 have them, my X does not.
