WP7 powered HTC Eternity and Omega are believed to be unveiled at HTC's event
One of BGR’s sources has indicated that the company plans to unveil several new Windows Phone 7 Mango smartphones at their event on September 1st. Interestingly enough, we’re greeted with the names of two specific Mango inspired devices that are headed to the US market – the HTC Eternity and Omega.
Although information regarding the two is skimp at this point, it’s being reported that the HTC Eternity will be an AT&T bound handset featuring a 3.7” display of some sort. Conversely, the HTC Omega is looking to tie the knot with T-Mobile USA, and more importantly, it’ll be sporting a larger than average 4.5” display.
As for actual release dates, one can only presume it’ll be here some time in the fall, but the same source indicates that they’ll come sooner than expected.

99% chance the Tmobile version is 4g. Weve had WP7 4G stickers in the store for a month now. woot. we also have Blackberry 4G stickers as well.
4.5inch screen huh? guess HTC doesnt want Samsung to take all the glory with the hercules screen lol great!

T-mobile doesn't have a 4g network, they updated they're 3g network to have "like 4g speeds" not 4g again, T-mobile LTE network has not lunch yet you'll get online training on how to present the net LTE network if the att deal rolls thru untill then like 4g speeds not 4g you got it?

i believe it is technically 4g or they would not be able to market is as such. and i dont think the guy who works for t-mobile needs you to tell him what 4g is or prepare him for what to expect in his job

Uhhh. Are you dumb? Technically no carrier in America has 4G. Most sales associates don't even know what 4G is.

wow your a complete moron.. lol
maybe you should go look up what "4g" actually is and then get back to me.
And yea, let me worry about my job lol.
As of right now, tmobile has the FASTEST 4G in america.. hands down.. and its half the price of VZW for the same real world speeds or greater.

im sorry kid that you work in a whole in the wall called t mobile....but to be quite frank no one in the world has 4g YET....verizon is laying the backbone for there LTE 4g network, BUT just because they have LTE network and its faster than there 3g, does not mean its 4g, TRUE 4g speeds will not come until about 2016, the internet committee recently revised there protocals for what 4g is, reasons being are the ones you listed already....... MARKETING. The only reason why carriers in the US use the 4G label is because its "THEIR" 4th generation of internet. NO WHERE DOES IT SAY THAT THERE 4G run at actual 4G SPEEDS.

You said that no one in the world has 4G yet. That is soo wrong.
Here in sweden we already have 4G with a theoretical speed of about 80 mbps.

whoa, whoa, whoa, remixfa, they sure don't. 4G LTE on Verizon is MUCH faster than HSPA+ on T-Mobile. we get like 13-15 mbps on average and for some reason on the Galaxy Tab 10.1 it doesn't go below 20 mbps. i rarely see HSPA+ on T-Mobile go over 7 mbps.

they changed it to include WiMAX, LTE & HSPA+ smart one...

Hmmm...will Verizon and Sprint be once again stuck with bottom of the barrel WP7 phones? Good grief...it would be nice to get the Focus or the HD7 on a carrier other then AT&T or T-Mobile.
12. simplyj (Posts: 404; Member since: 23 Dec 2009)
I agree. the Focus and Omnia 7 are the only good WP7 phones out there.
27. Thump3rDX17 (Posts: 2160; Member since: 10 May 2010)
i personally think the Dell Venue Pro would be the best one to get.

Completely agree. Wanted a Focus, but I am with Verizon so I was limited to the middle-of-the-road specced HTC Trophy. Definitely a good phone, but the lack of options (specifically a Super AMOLED display) is disappointing.

i'd be more interested in WP7 if there was a high-end device or at least one with a stand out feature on Verizon. i was close to trying out the Trophy but the pros & cons of Android & Windows Phone are so close with me that i couldn't really justify doing it since i can't type worth s**t on a 3.7" screen with my larger sized hands. 4" minimum or at least add something interesting that could make me live with it.

Wow, an event just to launch a WinMo phone? This is a clear indication that Google's move to purchase Moto did not affect HTC at all, lol.

HTC has worked with microsoft longer than google has been in the game. its not their first windows launch party. :)

Thump3rDX17, there is something very interesting about WP7. It's that it doesn't need a dual core processor to be awesome. Metro UI is the best there is. Can't say much for the 3.7 screen, though.
22. Thump3rDX17 (Posts: 2160; Member since: 10 May 2010)
yeah i know that. you can navigate the platform smoothly without a dual-core but that's not all it's good for you know. you can play videos more smoothly and games with much smoother graphics and frame rates. when you're just torn between Android & Windows Phone and you've already had Android it's kind of a no brainier to go with a super spec'd Android phone than a pretty base level Windows Phone like the Trophy.

HTC Omega might be something I might look into.

Can't wait to watch all of the other carriers get good WP7 phones, while Sprint sits on their asses and gets Android. Seriously WTF? They would make so much more money if everyone could get a piece of the pie, not just the 2 GSM carriers in the US. AT&T and T-Mobile already have good phones, why do they need more? So f**kin' dumb.

While I am not ready to push the panic buttom just yet, I am so ready to throw the fit at any given moment. I could not agree with you and TWashington more. There hasn't even been RUMORS of Mango going to Sprint or Verizon yet. For a company that knows better, Microsoft HAS to be pushing to get on two carriers with over 155 million customers between them, right?? I mean - RIGHT??!!
23. Dj21o (Posts: 437; Member since: 19 May 2011)
Oh absolutely! Everyone that has Sprint and or Verizon, for 10+ years, lets all jump ship to T-Mobile or AT&T!!!! READY, SET, GO!
Just kidding lol. But seriously, I'm getting ready to email someone at Sprint just to get some clarification on when we are going to get a decent WP7. We don't have the iPhone, we don't have Windows, mine as well switch the carriers name to "The Android Network". And if I push the "oh s**t" button, I'm not going to get as ticked off when it doesn't come lol.
30. PeterIfromsweden (Posts: 1230; Member since: 03 Aug 2011)
Maybe, spring at verizon are boycotting WP7 because of the skype purchase ?
32. Dj21o (Posts: 437; Member since: 19 May 2011)
I have no idea, but I emailed the chief marketing officer from Sprint last night. I still didn't get a response yet, but I'm still waiting lol. Hopefully Sprint doesn't get screwed in the next couple of months, that would be nice lol.
34. snowgator (Posts: 3452; Member since: 19 Jan 2011)
Please let us ... okay, mostly me know. Sprint is first on my list for carriers, and I would be very curious how they respond to you!!!
