Photive's Bluetooth audio lineup targets music fans looking for hardware on a budget

As more of our music-listening becomes mobile, and we access the bulk of that music through our smartphones, demand for good Bluetooth speakers continues to grow. Time after time, we've covered dozens of the various options out there, from speakers offering 360-degree sound, to those that are waterproofed for taking the music to the pool or beach. During ShowStoppers at CE Week 2016 yesterday, we got a quick look at the latest audio accessories from Photive, which just added a number of Bluetooth speakers to its lineup.

Photive's big thing is value, and in a world where it's far too easy for a Bluetooth speaker to cost hundreds upon hundreds of dollars, Photive's offerings come in on the much more affordable side of the range – think: $100 or less.

Both the Sphere and M3 speakers feature an unusual cloth-covered design, making them almost look like throw pillows. The Sphere packs an integrated stand for upright operation, while the M3 offers a strap for easy portability.

That strap-equipped design extends to the S1, which pairs a bit more modern of a design with dual 10-Watt stereo speakers.

If you're looking for something a little more rugged, the M90's got a shock-resistant build and full waterproofing, while offering ten hours of playback on a charge. On the slightly more compact side, the S5 keeps that waterproofing while shrinking everything else down.

In addition to these speakers, Photive's lineup includes plenty of Bluetooth headphones, as well as a number of Bluetooth earbuds – including both tethered designs and those that are completely wire-free.
