Motorola DROID X 2, LG Revolution, and HTC Trophy release date rumored to be May 12
Share:
With its qHD 4.3-inch display and its snappy 1.2 GHz Tegra 2 processor, we are not expecting to see the DROID X 2 landing anywhere else but on Verzion's top shelves with the rest of the carrier's hottest devices keeping it company. In case you've missed them, feel free to check out the DROID X 2's first press shots, which we wrote about not long ago. On the other hand, the LG Revolution may not pack that much processing power, but it will stand out with its 4G LTE connectivity. You can see our hands-on of the LG Revolution to get a clearer picture as of what the smartphone will look like. Finally, the HTC Trophy will become Verizon's first smart device to run the Windows Phone 7 platform. Yes, we may be living in a world dominated by Android and iOS, but Microsoft's mobile OS does have its fans out there.
Every single one of these three devices has been expected for quite a while and their supposed release dates have been only a matter of speculation so far. We are crossing our fingers that a concrete confirmation from Verizon makes headlines pretty soon, and once it does we will make sure to let you know.

It should be launched tomorrow. It would have been one week since April 28th tomorrow.

Why do you say the X2 has a 1.2 gig processor when it was screenshotted with a dual core processor?

I do believe each core runs at 1.2gigs.

ya..... its a snapdragon... the evo3d and sensation have the same processor as well.. although in my opinion i think they r better as well as the gII than the x2

it's a Tegra 2... not a snapdragon... Snapdragon is pretty much HTC. They have seemingly been favoring Qualcomm lately but i haven't ever seen a Motorola with a Snapdragon..

Verizon needs some other options on it's shelves for it's ever widening base of customers, so I love that the Trophy will be there. W7 may not be the run away hit Microsoft was betting on, but it is good to have the option. I think it is a good OS with a lot of upside. I don't count myself a fan of LG products, but a less expensive LTE option is more then welcome, and the Revolution will hopefully be priced to move. Maybe LG will surprise. As for the X^2, I love the fact Motorola is giving a non-LTE high end option. Dual core, the "X" name, and still a lot of 3G areas, bet it sells really well. I agree with msa1988- I really do want to give RIM a shot. Blackberry needs to join the dance with the 4G Bold Touch and the full Touch-screen successor to the Storm, and how much fun will it be to hang out at the Verizon stores then!!!

LTE phones are 3g capable so why not have it to get on the $29.99 unlimited 4g plan before its gone? I hate the current 4g phones coming out but I use a lot of data so I'm dealing with a crap phone for the unlimited data. My X blows my Thunderbolt out of the water.

If these are official Verizon launch dates, you need to add 1-3 weeks. Verizon just can't seen to launch any phone on time these days - on top of the fact that most of their phones have been out on other carriers 4-6 months before they even announce them.
Looking forward to that Galaxy S2 sometime around Easter next year!

dates could be firm... Verizon is trying to get rid of Droid X with some CPO sales going on right now. verizonwireless.com
Plus i see a lot of Droid X' for sale pretty cheap (amazon, hhgregg, sams club etc). Must be trying to make room for the new batch

I have 5 phones on my account with different end dates so I am stuck with vzw. I don't mind because I would prob choose them anyway but with that in mind....
I want a great android phone but they are all too dang big! The iPhone is about as big as I am willing to go. Is there an android answer for when my Eris dies or just can't keep up with it's 2.1?? Or do I just have to go with iPhone...uhg.

Do you want a phone with a keyboard? The droid pro is what i have and it is. EXTREMELY smooth. It is also light weight, and small. If you are looking for something only without a keyboard that is smaller, the iPhone or the original droid incredible might be your only options, where all the phones seem to be so big these days!

We now offer the Incredible 2 which has the sense upgrade and is now global.

Put a 3.7" screen on that and I would pay a fortune for it!

It's 4.0" but it's really almost the same size as the original Incredible imo.

dont get the iphone...... and dont get the pro either! get the incredible 1 or 2. if the 2 is to big for ya then go with the first one. its got android 2.2 now and is smaller than the iphone

I have it on pretty good authority that it may not launch at all any time soon. Its not perfect info and could be wrong. An associate (I'll call him/her that to protect) works for verizon and told me that the trophy was held up indefintiely, he/she seemed to think that they might be waiting for a more improved device. Not sure but something to think about. I'd venture to say its plausible or I imagine I'd see verizon having it all over their website as opposed to some page that's a little difficult to navigate to.
I've been waiting for this for a while now, I guess a few more months wont hurt. i wonder if it had anything to do with MS changing the min specs on the phones???/ Thoughts???
Again i sure hope not as I'd really love to get my hands on the trophy...

I have reason to believe it's because it's a Global phone. WM6.1/6.5 was built with the switching necessary to make the TP2/Imagio work well on VZWs network. But the fact that WP7 didn't have CDMA support at launch, and the Sprint Arrive landed like 6 mo.'s after launch I think Verizon & Microsoft are having troubles with the CDMA/GSM dual-mode that this phone needs to work.

it's possible that it may launch before the end of May. i hope so. [:

how about an Eris2 anyone? 3.2" screen, 1ghz next generation snapdragon processor...... that would make me happy. owning an Eris right now... i want so badly to want a new phone but honestly verizon isn't impressing me much with their offerings. I think it's great to have a variety of larger phones, bigger than 4.3" though just sounds ridiculous... but still i'd like a smaller phone with an updated processor.
p.s. NOT THE GAY STUPID STEREOTYPING BLISS!! i hate that nastyness. watch a bunch of little girls go out and get it too.... i wish women would make up their minds. do you want equal rights or do you want to be treated different but you can't expect both >

It's the 11th. Verizon claims it knows nothing about these phones
