Huawei P9 smiles for the camera in a new series of photographs
The Huawei P9 first grabbed our attention last October when a label from the phone leaked, indicating that the device would feature dual cameras on the back. Since then, leaked images have confirmed that there will indeed be two rear-facing snappers on the phone. Huawei has also teased this attribute of the P9 by disseminating some cute teasers. We expect the P9 and variants to be introduced at a media event planned for April 6th.

Today, some new images of the phone have leaked out, showing off the dual 12MP camera set up, and a fingerprint scanner on the back of the device. The Huawei P9 should come with a 5.2-inch display carrying a 1080 x 1920 resolution. Huawei's home-grown Kirin 950 chipset is expected to be under the hood, with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of native storage. The 12MP cameras on back will feature laser focus and OIS.

The Huawei P9 Lite will offer a 5-inch display with a 1080 x 1920 resolution. The Snapdragon 650 chipset is believed to drive the phone, which will come with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of ROM. The rear cameras are said to weigh in at 12MP, and will also feature laser focus and OIS. The Huawei P9 Max will be equipped with a 6.2-inch display carrying a 1440 x 2560 QHD resolution. The Kirin 955 chipset will power the device, which should come with 4GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB ROM. The same 12MP dual camera setup is expected on the back of the unit.

There also has been talk about a version of the P9 that is somewhere in between the regular version and the P9 Max. This phone is rumored to include a 5.8-inch screen and the Kirin 955 SoC.

Thanks for the tip!

It is ugly indeed. Their camera quality is terrible, and now they are pulling off this dual cam set up? They should just improve on their camera quality before doing something else like this.

I see no difference from huawei's previous phones other than the dual cam set up. Not cool.

Huawei phone are not cheap as well.

They are just getting lazier and lazier, and this design is getting old and ugly.

Their phones are not a pleasure to use as well. Good battery life but that's about it. They just make bad phones overall

The 6P is a better "looking" Huawei phone. And that is a very subjective statement in itself.

I think they are just trying to beat Apple in the dual camera setup.

Just hope it does not have a black bezel around the screen.

Unlikely it will not have the black bezel unless they use Amoled like in Nexus 6P.

And black bezel is less significant in real use because half of it goes along with 2D glass panel.

Im not sure about the design.

Can't be I've im saying this, but it looks ugly.

They are just trying to pull off the dual camera setup. Because other oems are doing it, especially with the rumor of apple doing it too

To be honest, it's quite ugly...

And I've tried playing my friend's huawei phone, it's just not great. I dont know what it is, but their phones are always lacking in something.

Software is ok, but too ios-ish. Camera is just terrible. Especially selfie cam always take washed out photos.

Why is the P series getting uglier every generation? The P7 looked original and stylish. The P8 still looked OK but the "fake" bezels ruined it. The P9 is damn right ugly all over. :/

Nexus 6P was called far more uglier until it got released and everyone got a big middle finger on their faces.

P9 looks to be my next phone if as rumours go they finally brought the battery up to 3000mAh and they use their high end chip K950 compared to P8 getting a mid range chip.
Design looks great with very smooth curves yet retain enough flatness for grip. Hopefully the dual camera with rumous of high end lens turns out true and pictures come out as good as S7 and 6S. Ill be going for the carbon black 4gb dual sim shipped from China .;)

Well dang, if it's gonna have big bezels like the Hauwei P8 lite then that's gonna make me think hard in getting this phone, i love how thin it is, if it's 6.5mm or less then that's great, i just need a phone bad and hopefully this will be a great buy, i don't wanna buy no boring Apple or Samsung phone.
