Huawei P9 to feature dual camera set-up on back?
Back in May, we told you that Huawei had started prepping a successor to the well-received Huawei P8. Even back then, it was understood that the Huawei P9 would offer a fingerprint scanner and would be powered by the company's own Kirin 950 chipset. That is the top-of-the-line chip produced by the manufacturer.

Today, the Huawei P9 has leaked with photos showing part of the labeling for the rear camera, indicating that the handset will be available in white and gold. We also can see the cutout for a laser auto focus sensor. That should result in higher quality pictures, with focusing accomplished in a fraction of a second. We also can see from the leak that the unit will have a dual camera set-up in the back. We expect that a 16MP camera with OIS will be one of those cameras.

Previous rumors have us waiting for a phone carrying a 5.2-inch screen, with a resolution of 1080 x 1920. That works out to a 424ppi pixel density. As we said, the Kirin 950 SoC should be under the hood. The chipset comes with four Cortex-A72 cores, and four Cortex-A57 cores. The Mali-T880 GPU handles graphics. The chipset beat out the Exynos 7420 in benchmark tests, so it would appear that the P9 won't be lacking for speed or performance. To that end, the Huawei P9 will also be loaded with 4GB of RAM.

The Huawei P9 could be launched before the end of the year. Certainly Huawei is hoping that it is released in time to capture some holiday sales.

Thanks for the tip!

Kirin are always bad with GPU, they are always behind the curve. Even 940 is yet to be found anywhere. 930/935 was rumoured to be standard A57+A53. In reality it turned out to be a 28nm A53-only setup with a piss-poor T628MP4 GPU. They always use cheap silicon and at best value products. You are not going to get top-notch performance with them.

Huawei is more like an apple. They doesnt use top of the line components. They always try to get the best value components and try to get best results out of them. It helps them earn good profit and incase of under performance sales, they are able to sell in a low price without making loss

K950 Has Already Beat The E7420 In Benchmarks, From That Alone It Should Be Clear That It Will Be A Powerful Soc, Maybe Not The Best But Defiantly A Powerful Piece Of Silicon That Should't Be Taken Lightly.

The moment you realise bases their smartphone R&D on Internet rumours of their competitor's flagships lol. First they heard rumours of Apple using sapphire glass for iPhone 6. Voila. Then came Force Touch with the 6S. And finally, they finally feel obliged to go with dual sensors because that was supposedly coming to the S7. Not half as stupid as it sounds cause they wouldn't have to put as mucho money into developing new technologies that has a risk of failing but hey, I sure wanna see them come up with something great once they are more relevant in the West.

True, but they did do dual sensors before but it was poorly implemented. They came up with Knuckle Sense and the panoramic selfie. and it's NOT Force touch but 3D Touch, Apple will not like it if you called it that.

dude you are pathetically far behind in your knowledge. Huawei already has dual camera phone by the name of honor 6 plus. This phone was launched well before any news of samsung or apple surfaces about the use of dual camera. Plz search an internet for a while before commenting to increase your knowledge. Not everything in the world is apple or samsung

Judging by your diction I assume you are Chinese (or from any country that uses the language)? No problem with that I am one myself just surprising you don't realise it's like the biggest thing in China right now. So much so the majority of tech firms (Huawei, Xiaomi, ZTE, LeTV, and Lenovo just to name a few) put them high on the pedestal as their ideal role model? You are right about Samsung and the Honor 6 Plus though my bad.
