Huawei P9 to feature dual camera set-up on back?
Back in May, we told you that Huawei had started prepping a successor to the well-received Huawei P8. Even back then, it was understood that the Huawei P9 would offer a fingerprint scanner and would be powered by the company's own Kirin 950 chipset. That is the top-of-the-line chip produced by the manufacturer.

Today, the Huawei P9 has leaked with photos showing part of the labeling for the rear camera, indicating that the handset will be available in white and gold. We also can see the cutout for a laser auto focus sensor. That should result in higher quality pictures, with focusing accomplished in a fraction of a second. We also can see from the leak that the unit will have a dual camera set-up in the back. We expect that a 16MP camera with OIS will be one of those cameras.

Previous rumors have us waiting for a phone carrying a 5.2-inch screen, with a resolution of 1080 x 1920. That works out to a 424ppi pixel density. As we said, the Kirin 950 SoC should be under the hood. The chipset comes with four Cortex-A72 cores, and four Cortex-A57 cores. The Mali-T880 GPU handles graphics. The chipset beat out the Exynos 7420 in benchmark tests, so it would appear that the P9 won't be lacking for speed or performance. To that end, the Huawei P9 will also be loaded with 4GB of RAM.

The Huawei P9 could be launched before the end of the year. Certainly Huawei is hoping that it is released in time to capture some holiday sales.

Thanks for the tip!
