Android 2.1 update for the Motorola DROID now being pushed out
Talk about a long time coming, but the on again and off again promises of Android 2.1 for the Motorola DROID looks to be in full swing as it's being heard that owners have started to see the update being pushed out to them. From the sounds of it, there were 1,000 owners who received the update notification at noon today while an additional 9,000 more owners will get the much waited alert on their smartphones before midnight tonight. As long as there are no hiccups in this process, everyone who owns a Motorola DROID should be singing happily in the rain as Android 2.1 should be available to the rest of us by Thursday. It'll bring along a ton of neat features to make DROID owners extremely proud of their handset and how they're still being remembered despite the latest wave of Android devices making their own splash. In addition, it looks as though users of Yahoo's free mail service will be able to setup their inbox on the handset without any problems. So have you received that much wanted notification yet?

I looks like the iPhone trolls have been in this article. All I see are negative ratings for every single post and a lot of them are informative.

Wow, it only took 13 minutes to get a -1 on this...the trolls are out!!!

I know the 2.1 is supposed to be awesome, but what exactly does it do?

Here we go again with sites printing rumors again without checking with the source. Surele Verizon or Motorola have at least 1 PR person that would confirm this if it's true?! Shoddy journalism at it's best

www.androidforums.com .........the proof is there in the droid section. and also Verizon Wireless did a press release also they have updated their PDF about the latest version so it has been confirmed.

30. cj100570 posted on 30 Mar 2010, 22:13

Sorry Sherlock, that PDF has been there for more than a week. And the picture you refer doesn't prove Jack. There were also pictures floating around on the 18th also and Verizon shot that down when they announced that only internal testers had the update. And last but not least, Verizon didn't release a press release saying that 2.1 was rolling out today. There was a supposed leak of an internal email! That's not a press release.

Isn't this the 3-4th time they pull this crap! How about just pushing it without announcing it!
