Galaxy Watch 5 comparisons

As soon as our Galaxy Watch 5 Pro and Galaxy Watch 5 comparisons are up, we will be showcasing them here.

In what colors are the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro and Galaxy Watch 5 available?

The smaller, base version of the Galaxy Watch 5 is available in:

  • Graphite
  • Pink Gold
  • Silver.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro is available in:

  • Black Titanium
  • Gray Titanium.

Galaxy Watch 5 is also part of Samsung's Bespoke Studio. You can customize the case color and the band style and color in the virtual watchmaker studio, allowing you for some basic customizations. Unfortunately, the Bespoke Studio is not as feature-rich as the one for the Z Flip phones.

What is the Galaxy Watch 5 battery capacity?

Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro come with larger batteries than their immediate predecessors, with the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro pushing the boundaries with its large, nearly 600mAh battery.

Here are the Galaxy Watch 5 family battery sizes:

  • Galaxy Watch 5 Pro 45mm - 590mAh (vs 361mAh Galaxy Watch 4 Classic 44mm)
  • Galaxy Watch 5 44mm - 410mAh (vs 361mAh Galaxy Watch 4 Classic 44mm)
  • Galaxy Watch 5 40mm - 284mAh (vs 247mAh on Galaxy Watch 4 40mm)

As far as real-life battery life is concerned, you can expect a day and so of battery life with the regular Galaxy Watch 5, while the Watch 5 Pro could easily last you two or even three days.

As you can see, the difference in battery capacity is astonishing, especially considering the difference with the previous generation. Why use such large batteries? Simple - Wear OS goes a bit hard on resources, so having a larger battery to ensure good passable battery life is more than essential.

Charging-wise, Samsung has equipped the watches with faster charging, with Samsung quoting  30% faster charging. The company says an 8 minute charge will be providing users with 8 hour of battery life, which is definitely a great quality-of-life upgrade.

What are the best Galaxy Watch 5 deals?

One of the best recent deals that have sadly expired already had Woot sell the Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro at a cool $50 discount, shedding the starting price from $280 to $250 for the Galaxy Watch 5, while the Watch 5 Pro was down to $400 from $450. Sadly, this deal is gone, but we have all the current ones cherry-picked in the best Galaxy Watch 5 deals right here. Currently, you can save big on each wearable by trading in an eligible device, a deal that's available on multiple carriers and retailers, like AT&T, Best Buy, and Samsung's own store itself. T-Mobile has a rather lucrative deal going on at the moment as well, so be sure to check that one either.
