T-Mobile officially rolled out the new T-Mix plans on November 5 with a fitting launch event to show consumers that it's not just about the new offerings, but also its network edge and brand proposition, which sets it apart.

T-Mix grants Picks based on your plan tier and the number of lines you have. Those picks can be used toward phone upgrades, digital, travel, and connectivity benefits. The new plans are cheaper than the phased-out Experience 2.0 lineup for the first two lines. You can reassign picks up to four times a year.
The unconventional approach raised questions, and T-Mobile addressed every one of them during the launch event. Analyst Avi Greengart was there and shared what transpired.
More than just connecting customers

Connectivity is no longer about staying in touch with friends and family. It's about enriching online experiences that expand your worldview. Sometimes, that may take the form of jetting off to a new location, for which T-Mobile is handing out 500 Delta Air Lines miles per month. Or you could try a different cuisine and get a taste of another culture with DashPass, which costs just 1 Pick.
It's not just about Picks though. The T-Mobile Tuesdays rewards program, which remains a standard offering, continues to treat customers to freebies, with a whopping 1.46 billion saves and 542 million redemptions so far. The program can be accessed via the T-Life app, which now has 32 million daily active users.

That's the premise of T-Mix: connecting you to people, content, and experiences. It's also embracing autonomous systems like delivery robots as part of its push into physical AI.
T-Mobile is also shifting away from outsourcing and focusing on providing customer service in-house. Senior management's compensation is now tied to how much time they spend at retail and in call centers.
The backbone of it all is the network, which T-Mobile claims is the best in the business. The company boasts the largest and highest-quality spectrum allocation. It says it's "half a lap ahead," and competition is "not going to catch up."
We're half a lap ahead. Half a lap is a lot. They're not going to catch up.

T-Mobile got a headstart in 5G, and while one carrier has ever led two consecutive network generations, T-Mobile is confident that it will be ahead in 6G as well.
There's never been a carrier that led two consecutive network generations. AT&T led 3G. Verizon led 4G. T-Mobile led 5G -- and we're going to lead in 6G as well.

Adapting
Most US consumers go close to three years without upgrading their devices. Meanwhile, they spend over $200 every month on subscriptions. A plan that lets you do both gives you more control over your spending.
As for the network edge, well, AT&T and Verizon have been closing the gap with T-Mobile, and they'll probably be careful not to repeat their 5G mistakes. This one is going to be a closer race.
