Google started rolling out the stable Android 17 update to its Pixel phones last month. I installed it on my Pixel 10 on 20th June and have loved the overall experience since then. The update is now available on a few smartphones of a different brand, and no, it's not Samsung.
Xiaomi phones get Android 17 before anyone else
After being exclusively available on Pixel phones for almost a month, the stable Android 17 update is now reportedly available on non-Pixel phones of a particular brand. It's Xiaomi, and the stable build is available via the HyperOS 3.0.332.0 update. However, it's worth noting that not all Xiaomi phones have received the latest Android update: it's currently only available on the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Ultra, and the Xiaomi 15T Pro.
The latest update can be found in both the Global and European variants of the eligible Xiaomi 17 series phones. The Xiaomi 15T Pro, however, gets it as a Mi Pilot release, meaning it's available to a limited number of users.
Don't get too excited, Xiaomi 17 series users

I confirmed with my colleague Orhan, who has the Xiaomi 17 Ultra in our office, that the HyperOS 3.0.332.0 update is available for the device. Interestingly, I went through the entire update log, but it doesn't have any mention of Android 17. It simply mentions that downloading this update would improve the phone's stability and user experience and also get you the June 2026 security patch.
You will only get to know that your phone has been updated to the latest Android build after installing the update, which is 9.6 GB in size. Once installed, go to the Settings page and open the About Phone section. The Android Version option then confirms that the phone is running on a stable Android 17 build.
It's important to mention that HyperOS 3 is Xiaomi's own software, and it's entirely different from what is available on the Pixel devices. Xiaomi doesn't have to add all the new changes Android 17 brings to its phones even when running on it. That's the reason why most of the Android 17 highlight features, like app bubbles, screen recording reactions, and more, were missing from our Xiaomi 17 Ultra even after the update.
Updating to the latest Android version would allow the company to improve its phones' compatibility and roll out the latest security patches and developer APIs. It's all up to Xiaomi on whether they want to release the above-mentioned Android 17 features sometime in the future or replace them with their own version.

List of devices getting the Android 17 update
It's been almost a month since this stable Android 17 build became available on Pixel phones. Specifically, it is available on all the Pixel smartphones from the Pixel 6 lineup through the latest Pixel 10 family. But how do you know whether your device that isn't a Google phone would receive the stable Android 17 update or not?
While there's currently not a particular eligibility criterion, if your phone isn't very old, for example, if it was released in 2024 or later, then it's almost certain that it will receive the update. Still, if you want to be 100% sure, then you can check out the list we have created for you that contains all the phones from different brands that are confirmed to get the latest Android build.
Your phone could get the update anytime now
I am one of those guys who downloads the Android or software update the moment it becomes available. Although it has resulted in me getting into trouble a couple of times, the thrill of trying new features often makes me forget my previous bad experience of installing the updates on day one.
That said, we could see the Android 17 updates on more non-Pixel devices very soon. Samsung Galaxy phones could be next on the list as the tech giant is most likely to talk about the One UI 9 that is built on Android 17 in its upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event. So, we could see the stable build of the latest Android version landing on Galaxy smartphones after that.
