Last week, I covered a story talking about a new foldable that Samsung is about to launch in the next few days. The device is finally out, and its colors are surely one of its main selling points.

Meet the Samsung W27

This year, Samsung has already launched three devices in its Z lineup, which includes the Galaxy Z Fold 8, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, and the Galaxy Z Flip 8. The Samsung W27 is nothing but a China-exclusive variant of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. In case you are not aware, Sammy has been launching W series devices for the last few years exclusively for its Chinese audience.

The phone carries the same hardware specification that you find in the Ultra foldable, though you get additional satellite connectivity in the China-exclusive device. Unlike the global variant, which is available in the 12 GB RAM option as well, the China model is available only in the 16 GB option. Furthermore, the foldable comes in a special collector's edition box, which features a 45 W charger and a Kevlar protective case.

The colors are really mesmerizing

A prominent tipster, Ice Universe, shared the rear view image of the foldable, which I included in the story published last week. The story also had a poll in which I asked you guys about your thoughts on the color of the Galaxy W27. The poll has received 694 votes at the time of writing, with more than 90% of the votes going to options that basically said the color looks gorgeous.

What's your thought on the color of Galaxy W27?
699 Votes

Interestingly, at that time the tipster showcased that device only in the blue shade, but Sammy has launched it in the red color as well. These colors are totally different from the four finishes in which the Z Fold 8 Ultra is available. Samsung W27 features a dual-tone design, blue and golden and red and golden.

The gold shade is used in only certain parts of the smartphone, which include its outer frame, hinge, rear camera module, and camera lens rings. In the rear panel, where the Samsung logo is usually embedded, W27 features a "Heart to the World" logo.

It's China-exclusive

While the combined votes of two options that basically mentioned that you guys really loved the color received more than 90% of the vote, one of these options, which basically said, "The color looks great. Sadly, it's China exclusive," received 58.5% of the votes. So yes, the foldable is going to be solely available in China, and most of you seem to be disappointed by this news.

These colors should go international

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is available in four color options: violet shadow, graphite, cream, and green shadow, which is exclusively sold through the Samsung official online store. I really liked all these colors, but if you would ask me to choose between any of these four colors and two finishes in which W27 is available, then I would go with W27 choices without a second thought.

Smartphone manufacturers have really improved their game when it comes to the color choices, like Apple launching its latest iPhone 18 Pro phones in a new burgundy hue. However, I believe things could improve a lot more. For instance, making a dual-color tone like W27 a standard in all phones.

All that said, if you are interested in the Samsung W27 and don't live in China, then you can consider importing it. The 16 GB/512 GB model is available at CNY 18,999 (~ $2,850), and the 16 GB/1 TB variant costs CNY 21,999 (~ $3,300).
