This is almost certainly the (nearly) complete spec sheet of the non-Ultra Galaxy Z Fold 8

Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 8 (formerly known as the Z Fold 8 Wide) is basically an open book in almost every major way now ahead of its expected July 22 launch.

Which of the two book-style foldable devices Samsung is expected to announce at a glamorous Unpacked event in London on July 22 are you most excited about? Before you answer that question, of course, it's important to make sure you have the most detailed, reliable, and up-to-date information on both the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Fold 8 Ultra, which includes a brand-new social media leak.

Here's what the "New Fold" is apparently all about

  • 7.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X primary display with QHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate technology, and 4:3 aspect ratio;
  • 5.5-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X cover screen with QHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate capabilities, and 16:10 aspect ratio;
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor;
  • 12GB RAM;
  • 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage variants;
  • 50MP primary rear-facing camera with f/1.8 aperture;
  • 50MP secondary ultra-wide-angle lens with f/1.9 aperture;
  • 10MP front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture;
  • 10MP cover camera with f/2.2 aperture;
  • 4,800mAh battery with Super Fast Charging 2.0 and Fast Wireless Charging 2.0 support;whi
  • 123.9 x 81.9 x 9.7mm dimensions (folded);
  • 123.9 x 161.4 x 4.5mm dimensions (unfolded);
  • 201 grams weight.

Any big surprises to note?

Not really. At least not if you happened to catch that comprehensive "Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide" leak from almost two whole months ago, which revealed a very similar spec sheet to the one tweeted (X-ed?) by Ahmed Qwaider earlier today in addition to the somewhat unusual design of the first-of-a-kind Samsung foldable.

What's different about the newly rumored details are some of the measurements of the device now expected to go official under the simple and yet somewhat confusing Galaxy Z Fold 8 name. Specifically, it appears that the non-Ultra-branded iPhone Ultra rival could be thinner than originally predicted, especially in unfolded form.

That may or may not qualify as a big surprise depending on how important product thickness is for you in the foldable category, while the absence of a previously rumored 16GB RAM option from this latest leak is definitely not a major shocker. The rest of the specs are even less surprising, perfectly lining up with older gossip pretty much across the board, but that doesn't mean all questions have been answered and all answers are etched in stone.

Okay, so what don't we know about the Galaxy Z Fold 8 yet?

For one thing, the wired and wireless charging speeds of that 4,800mAh battery are intriguingly not mentioned today... although they're fairly easy to anticipate, at 45 and 15W, respectively.

The pixel counts of the 7.6 and 5.5-inch screens are also not spelled out, although previous speculation included exact resolutions of 2,584 x 1,828 and 1,848 x 1,264 that might prove 100 percent accurate... or off by a few pixels here and there.

Will the non-Ultra Galaxy Z Fold 8 be a winner?

That brings me to a far more important question mark, which surrounds the Z Fold 8's water and dust resistance (or lack thereof). The Galaxy Z Fold 7, remember, is designed in accordance with IP48 standards, while the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is expected (by some insiders, at least) to step that rating up to IP68, thus matching the non-foldable Galaxy S26 Ultra in yet another major department.

With this key detail conveniently omitted from the Z Fold 8's rumored spec sheet today, it's impossible to know what Samsung might be planning for its cheaper 2026 book-style foldable. But if I were a betting man, I'd probably put some money on an IP48 rather than IP68 certification.

How much will the Galaxy Z Fold 8 cost again?

That, my friends and dear readers, remains the million-dollar question that could make or break Samsung's first wide-type foldable device, especially with fairly promising rumors hovering over the iPhone Ultra's price tag.

While the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is all but guaranteed to cost more than the Galaxy Z Fold 7 at launch, the "regular" Z Fold 8 could (and very much should) start at around $1,800 stateside.

Even that might prove to be a hard pill to swallow for a lot of prospective buyers when you consider the 256 gigs of internal storage space expected to be offered by an entry-level Galaxy Z Fold 8 variant, as Motorola's Razr Fold (which is universally regarded as overpriced) comes with 512GB local digital hoarding room and a 16GB RAM count at $1,899.99 in the US.
