The Motorola Signature 27 will be more impressive than its predecessor in at least two big ways
A 200MP primary rear-facing camera is officially set in stone for the impending Motorola Signature 27, and a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro SoC is very likely.
That's an unusually short buzz-building campaign for what's likely to be Moto's most sophisticated (non-foldable) handset ever, and what's perhaps even odder is that the typically well-connected leakers on X and other social networks and tech publications across the web haven't managed to reveal a lot of Signature 27 details or specs ahead of tomorrow's launch event.
But that's where Motorola itself comes in, teasing the device once more on social media and confirming a couple of key pieces of information in the process while also dropping a very important hint on what could well prove the number one Signature 27 selling point.
Should Samsung be afraid of this bad boy's photography skills?
It's obviously far too early for me to even try to answer that question in anything resembling a direct fashion without risking ending up looking like a fool in a couple of months, but it's pretty clear that Motorola is targeting the Galaxy S26 Ultra with the 200MP primary camera on the back of the upcoming Signature 27.
Our first-gen Motorola Signature review, mind you, actually labeled the device as "very capable" in the photography and videography department, and that was with a comparatively humbler 50MP main snapper in tow. Of course, a higher megapixel count doesn't always result in a superior real-world imaging performance, but in this particular case, we're apparently dealing with a LYTIA sensor.

More specifically, the Motorola Signature 27 is likely to pack a state-of-the-art Sony Lytia 901 sensor that's found on the back of phones like the Vivo X300 Ultra, so yes, there's definitely a good chance the real-world photography skills of this second-gen Moto flagship will rival those of the Galaxy S26 Ultra (as well as the iPhone 18 Pro Max or Pixel 11 Pro XL).
The colors and materials will be as attractive as ever
If there's one thing you can count on Motorola always pulling off (both in the high-end and mid-range segments), that's undoubtedly exotic and eye-catching colorways, as well as iconic build materials.

The Signature 27 will obviously not be an exception to that rule, rocking Pantone Coal Smoke and Pantone Capulet Olive paint jobs. These are 100 percent etched in stone, but I wouldn't rule out a third and even fourth color option also being in the pipeline and surprising everyone with a brighter finish tomorrow.
Speaking of finishes, Motorola appears to be suggesting its "next big thing" will be made of vegan leather or another material in that realm, which would represent a return of sorts to the brand's roots and a slight departure from the original Signature's "linen-inspired" and "twill-inspired" glass back.
Will the Signature 27 go all-in on power?
Again, it's a little early to be 100 percent sure of the answer to that question, but all signs seem to point to a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro powering Motorola's 2027 flagship.

That chip isn't even out yet, but it might be formally unveiled... tomorrow at Qualcomm's Snapdragon Summit. Coincidence? Absolutely not, especially with Motorola building hype around the Signature 27 by using Qualcomm's name.
The previous Signature edition, remember, packed a non-Elite Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, thus falling short of the Galaxy S26 family's raw power. Of course, it's possible that a non-Elite Snapdragon 8 Gen 6 will be found inside this impending second-gen flagship Android, but somehow, I doubt that's going to happen.
When and where might the Signature 27 be released?
With the risk of sounding like a broken record, I can't guarantee a lot of things on this front either. But even though the handset is officially scheduled for a September 22 announcement, a commercial debut significantly later in the year in markets like India, Brazil, and Europe is not to be ruled out. After all, the device is called Signature 27 and not Signature "Late 26."

Why did I specifically mention Brazil and India and not the US as well? Because Motorola's regional X channels for the former two countries are currently hyping up the Signature 27 launch and the latter... isn't.
That could mean the phone will be released stateside a little later than everywhere else... or never.
