Motorola is officially launching the Signature 27 flagship next week, possibly in the US

The Motorola Signature 27 is launching in a matter of days, but its US premiere is still unconfirmed.

With the launch of the iPhone 18 Pro grabbing everyone’s attention, it may feel like the worst moment for any other flagship smartphone to get a premiere, but Motorola appears to be unbothered. After teasing the follow-up to the Motorola Signature on some of its European websites, the company is now posting on social media with more teasers that may bring good news for folks in the US.

Motorola is teasing a Signature 27 announcement

Motorola’s X account shared a new teaser this morning, which suggests a new product launch. The company’s post on X comes with the tagline “A new perspective is coming,” followed by the date September 22, 2026.

Part of the teaser is a short video with close-up shots of different materials, which appear to be a mix of textile, metal, and others. This could be related to the materials that will be used on the new product.

Not only does the tagline match last week’s Motorola Signature 27 teaser, which is still available on many of the company’s international websites, but there's also a more explicit clip published by Motorola Brazil on X. Showing the camera of the new device and the text “coming soon,” the video closes with the name and the logo of the new phone.

Unlike the promotional banners on Motorola’s European websites, which give an option to sign up for exclusive information, the Brazilian website directly mentions early access and exclusive presale benefits. All this points to a September 22 announcement followed by a launch shortly afterward.

Is the Motorola Signature 27 launching in the US?

While there’s nothing official yet, it appears the Signature 27 may end up launching in the US as well. The initial teaser was reportedly spotted on the Motorola US website before it got removed, and the new video teaser is published on the company’s international account on X.

This would be a change of strategy for the company, after the Signature 26 never made it stateside. However, it appears that fans of the brand would be very happy to see Motorola challenging the likes of the Galaxy S26, Pixel 11, and iPhone 18 Pro with a flagship offering.

Reactions to the Signature 27 were quite mixed on social media, with redditors being split between worries and excitement. While the sheer number of different devices Motorola offers has raised some concerns over software support, many users expressed their hopes for the flagship to land in the US this time.

What else do we know about the Motorola Signature 27?

Even though the announcement of the Signature 27 is only days away, we don’t have any specific rumors about it. If the original Signature is anything to judge by, we can expect great cameras, a thin design with interesting finishes, and a flagship chipset.

Considering the announcement is scheduled for the same day when Qualcomm is going to launch its new chips, it’s almost certain one of them will be inside the new phone. It’s very likely for the Motorola Signature 27 to be one of the first smartphones to use the “standard” Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6.

This is expected to be the “base” version of Qualcomm’s new flagship chipset duo, with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro taking the high-end position. The latter will be the chip, which is expected to power devices like the Galaxy S27 Ultra, while the Signature 27 could end up sharing a chip with the vanilla Galaxy S27.

It feels like a Motorola comeback

I won’t be surprised if the Signature 27 ends up being one of the best Android smartphones this season, and I’d love to see it launch in the US. The company already has a strong position on the American market, and it may be the only manufacturer capable of truly competing with Apple, Google, and Samsung there.
