Can you get a better smartwatch for your iPhone than last year's Apple Watch Ultra 3 this holiday season? Of course you can. But the new and improved Apple Watch Ultra 4 is only slightly improved, so at the right price, the older device might actually deliver superior value for your money.

Normally available for $799 and up, the Apple S10-powered Ultra 3 beast can be had at the time of this writing at a killer $250 discount... in a premium version that's typically priced at $899. This comes with a swanky Milanese Loop rather than a standard Trail or Alpine band, as well as a super-robust titanium case in a black or "natural" color.

What's interesting (and not at all surprising) is that multiple Ultra 3 models are no longer available (at any prices), which strongly suggests the 2025-released wearable will go away entirely at retailers like Amazon soon (after being discontinued by its manufacturer on the heels of its sequel's announcement).

Said sequel, mind you, packs a slightly faster Apple S11 processor and a more advanced than ever Health Sensing System while also improving the battery life and charging capabilities of the Apple Watch Ultra 3. But again, you're really not looking at any game-changing upgrades on the Apple Watch Ultra 4 (let alone a radical redesign), so if you're on a relatively tight budget but still want to buy one of the world's best smartwatches with one of the toughest builds and the most elegant band possible, you should probably pull the trigger here... before it's too late.

And no, I really don't think Amazon will be able to beat this discount on Black Friday, Cyber Monday, or around Christmas, mostly because I'm not sure if the Apple Watch Ultra 3 will still be around three, four, or six weeks from now.
