Sprint CEO Claure hints that the carrier will have a promotional tie-in with Pokemon Go
With rumors circulating about a promotional tie-in between Pokemon Go and Starbucks, we received a tip today from one of our loyal PhoneArena readers. Based on his tip, we assume that he works for Sprint in some capacity. He informed us that on November 29th, all Sprint store managers had to update their GPS coordinates because of a new promotion that the nation's fourth largest carrier will be running with Pokemon Go.
From what we can gather, this is all the same promotion for the AR game that we first told you about last month. It is supposed to tie-in with the next big update to the game that will add 100 new Pokemon, Player vs. Player battles, and the ability to make trades to name a few new features. The original rumor mentioned that there would be some sort of tie-in with Starbucks, Pokemon Go and Verizon from December 2nd through the 4th, but that never materialized.
All of the excitement could start as soon as tomorrow, so check in early and often.

Confirmation that Sprint is involved with a Pokemon Go promotion came today from a tweet written by Sprint CEO Marcelo Claure. The executive said that the carrier will soon have a special announcement directed at Pokemon Go trainers. Considering that this message comes from Claure, there is little reason to doubt that Sprint is planning a big promotional campaign involving the game.
