Nokia Lumia 920, Nokia Lumia 820 are launched in India; Nokia Lumia 620 to be released next month
It's amazing how things work out sometimes. Earlier this month, we passed along a message from a Nokia employee manning the Live Chat at the Nokia Cafe. The message leaked the news that the Nokia Lumia 920 and Nokia Lumia 820 would be launched in India on January 11th. Lo and behold, that is exactly what Nokia announced on Thursday. Starting on Friday, select retail stores throughout the major cities in the country will have the Nokia Lumia 920 and Nokia Lumia 820 in stock. The Nokia Lumia 620 will be released next month.

The Nokia Lumia 920 will cost INR38,199 ($698.55 USD) and will be available in yellow, red, white and black. This is Nokia's high-end Windows Phone 8 model. The mid-range Nokia Lumia 820 will come in red, yellow, cyan, white and black. The price for this unit is INR27,559 ($503.98 USD). The entry-level Nokia Lumia 620 won't be priced until its release, but will be available in magenta, yellow, cyan, white and black.

All three models will have access to Nokia Maps, Drive, Transport and Augmented Reality based City Lens. Nokia Mix Radio brings streaming music to the units for free. Camera buffs will be happy to hear about the exclusive apps for the shooter, Cinemagraph, PhotoBeamer and Smart Shoot. All of those apps allow you to become an artist with a lens.

India is one of the largest and fastest growing countries when it comes to mobile phone usage. The Nokia Lumia 920 has sold well in emerging markets and recently spawned long lines not once, but twice at the Nokia Store in Shanghai.
