All Google Nexus 7 tablets receive update that brings Google Wallet to the tablet
After those lucky 6,000 attendees of the Google I/O developers conference received their "free" Google Nexus 7 tablet (they did have to pay to attend the expo), an update was sent out to the tablet that was characterized as minor and kept the build at 4.1.1. It turns out that this update added Google Wallet functionality to the tablet as well.
Since the tablet is now in the hands of those who actually bought and paid for it, the same update is being sent out to these Google Nexus 7 owners. The announcement was made on Google Wallet's own Google+ page. While we're all for mobile payments functionality to help everyone make it through the day quicker, without fumbling for their wallet, cash or credit card, we're not sure that we can see too many people using a tablet to make a mobile payment, even a 7 inch one like the Google Nexus 7. Now that Google Wallet seems to be working on the HTC EVO 4G LTE after a software update was sent out, perhaps the Mountain View tech titan will be able to battle the competition from ISIS and Sprint.
