Google Nexus 7 gets minor OTA update
While the Google Nexus 7 tablet is on the way to those who pre-ordered it, there are those 6,000 lucky attendees of Google I/O who each received one of the tablets and that is why the new OTA update to build JRO03Dwasn't like the tree that falls in the empty forest. The update keeps the numerical build at Jelly Bean 4.1.1. In case you are counting, the update weighs in at 859kb, certainly nothing that would be considered a major update.

The only problem is that the update seems to bring nothing to the tablet except for some added technical information on the "About Tablet" screen. The added information includes the FCC ID number, IC and model number which are all now on the screen in case you somehow lose the sticker on the back of the tablet. The Asus built tablet should start making its way into the hands of those who pre-ordered the device sometime this week. And for those who were concerned,  local search remains one of the features on the device.

If any of you out there have received their Google Nexus 7 tablet and have completed the update, is there anything else you noticed besides the extra data on the "About Tablet" screen? You can reply by typing your comments in the box below.
