Verizon memo hints at the return of the Droid Incredible with Super LCD glass
A leaked copy of an internal Verizon memo hints that the HTC Droid Incredible will be getting a replacement of its hard to obtain AMOLED screen starting around the end of this month. It has already been reported that to make up for Samsung's inability to supply enough AMOLED screens, HTC would swap some of its phones to the Super LCD display manufactured by Sony. The reason for the shortage has to do with the Korean based firm's usage of its own AMOLED production to produce the Super AMOLED screens on its hugely successful Galaxy S phone, and all of its variants. The shortage of screens led Verizon to delay shipments of the phone to customers who had ordered it, even giving long suffering Verizon customers the option of changing the order to one for the Motorola DROID X.

According to the memo, those purchasing a new Droid Incredible by the end of September will receive a model with the SLCD screen. The change will take place on a rolling basis based on inventory levels and the units with the new LCD screen will have a different SKU number (ADR6300VW3)  than the original AMOLED equipped phone. Interestingly, Certified-Like New Replacement customers will receive a Droid Incredible with the same exact type of screen that they had originally purchased.
