The latest Beta 3 patch gives you some of the most exciting S26 features.

Samsung recently launched a new One UI 8.5 Beta patch for the Galaxy S23 lineup, giving users virtually no Galaxy AI-powered features. Not all Beta updates are the same, though, and the latest build for the Tab S11 series proves it.

One UI 8.5 Beta 3 has been released for the Tab S11

On April 28, 2026, Samsung launched the third One UI 8.5 Beta update for the Galaxy Tab S11 and the Tab S11 Ultra. The build version X936NKOU5ZZD7 / X936NKOO5ZZD7 / X936NKOU5AZD7 is 719.94 MB and brings multiple improvements to the Tab S11 experience.

The patch has been rolled out to South Korea. It should become available in other regions in the coming days. To check if the latest firmware has been launched in your region, go to Settings and tap Software Update. If the latest patch is available, download and install it to experience Samsung's new features.

What has been added to One UI 8.5 Beta 3?

Update details include the addition of Call Screening. This is an improved version of the Bixby text call, which allows the AI assistant to answer phone calls, giving users real-time transcripts of what is being said. The feature is aimed at tackling spam and fraudulent phone calls from unknown numbers.

Creative Studio, which debuted on the Galaxy S26, is also being introduced to the Galaxy Tab S11 series. It allows users to generate AI images using natural prompts, create custom stickers, generate custom backgrounds, and more.

Samsung has also tackled multitasking with the Beta 3 patch. The Tab S11 series sees improved split-screen usability, especially when working across multiple panels.

The firmware fixes overlapping issues when scrolling or switching videos in three-split and vertical split modes. Moreover, the update tackles overlapping issues when adding sketches while creating stickers.

Samsung DeX is becoming more intuitive

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 series debuts with improved Samsung DeX functions, making work-related tasks feel more intuitive. It enables desktop-like productivity features.

With the new One UI 8.5 Beta 3, Samsung addresses some issues with Samsung Dex Mode, such as execution errors of the Cmd+F shortcut in Guest Mode. The update further improves stability when using DeX with a second screen, particularly in standalone setups, making multitasking across displays more consistent.

Stable One UI 8.5 for the Tab S11

While the stable One UI 8.5 build is expected any day now for the Galaxy S25 lineup, there's still no official information about the Tab S11 lineup. If the rollout schedule is correct, Samsung will launch the stable One UI 8.5 build for older flagship devices starting tomorrow.

Possibly, a stable build for the Android tablets could start rolling out sometime in May 2026. It's very likely that the firmware will initially be released in South Korea, with a possible delay of about a week for other regions.

Not secondary devices in Samsung's eyes

While the Galaxy S23 received a virtually 'empty' One UI 8.5 Beta 3 patch, Samsung is proving the Tab S11 is no secondary lineup. The high asking price for these tablets is starting to get justified, even if it arrives a few months late.

As I see it, the Galaxy Tab S11 is being moved beyond a 'massive screen tablet' to a truly functional device that supports some of the best Galaxy S26 features.

I'm not saying that Creative Studio will radically change how we use the Tab S11 or the Tab S11 Ultra. However, when you're paying over $1,000 for a flagship tablet, it's only fair that you're among the first who can experience the most premium OS features Samsung has to offer.
