These HTC One M9 concepts look quite different from the M8
The first HTC One M9 concept was made by Hasan Kaymak, and seems to propose a device without BoomSound speakers. This allows the display to occupy a very large portion of the handset’s front. The smartphone should come with Sense 7 UI (which doesn’t exist yet).
The second HTC One M9 concept is more detailed, including some specs. Made by Rishi Ramesh, this imagined One M9 offers a 5.2-inch Quad HD display, 3GB of RAM, a 13MP Duo rear camera with 4K video recording, 7MP front-facing camera, and a 3,000 mAh battery.
Take a look at the two concepts and let us know if you think they're close (or not) to what HTC may be preparing for next year.

Concepts always take the original model and slim the bezels down. It's not much of a concept.

In m9 need:
isocell camera sensor
amoled display (100% srgb, 6500К, without modulation unlike s5)
htc please stepping over everyone, did it, it would be ideal

Not sure about your wishlist. The Isocell will pretty much remain as a Galaxy series exclusive and HTC will most likely refine their Super LCD than go AMOLED. The bezels are slim enough except for that damn black bar with the HTC logo. And quite frankly, what you said is not ideal for everyone (only the Samsung-y specs). Maybe for you.

if you wanted that, then get a S5. It has slim bezels (slim enuf at least), ISOCELL at 16MP, and AMOLED. All its missing is OIS but every flagship is missing that except G3.
15. sar44 (Posts: 196; Member since: 14 Apr 2014)
Modulation at medium and low brightness
107% SRGB (cinema and pro photo) and 129% (dynamic, standard, adapt)
6700-7000k in cinema and pro photo, 7500-8100k in dynamic, standart, adapt
Sound in headphones is 6.5/10 (5s 8/10, m8 9/10)
Unnecessary Dynamic, Standard and Adapt modes

Then just build your own phone and stop complaining. Jeez...

You need a Samsung S5 combined with LG G3. Good dreams...

Why would they go from IPS to amoled?, don't get me wrong its a very nice display and all but IMO IPS is the way to go :p
29. sar44 (Posts: 196; Member since: 14 Apr 2014)
Amoled much better (viewing angles, black color, contrast, response time). Disadvantages of s5 amoled easy to fix, it's not a technology problem
34. BaffledTruffle (Posts: 109; Member since: 07 Dec 2013)
AMOLED being better than LCD is not a fact. They have advantages and disadvantages against each other. It really boils down to a consumer's preference.

Bezels free looks ugly....we need at least some mm bezels to protect and looks beautiful.

Finally! A 13 mp camera but it's still a concept.

seems like every phone concept all look-alike... =_=:

HTC One M9 with three 4mp ultrapixel cameras.
8. BaffledTruffle (Posts: 109; Member since: 07 Dec 2013)
I don't think those really slim bezels are ideal. That will make the phone fragile. The 13MP duo camera sounds like a dream too. What I do think they need to improve is their BoomSound speakers (they're good but they take too much space) and the ergonomics of the phone. HTC's got a lot of work to do.

Ugly, m8 or m7 over this anyday.
19. adwienc (Posts: 134; Member since: 26 Mar 2014)
M7 still better looking than the others, M8 with that stupid HTC logo is too big and it makes the front ugly.
11. Sid91 (Posts: 65; Member since: 06 May 2014)
If the htc m9 has the same camera as the htc mini and 816's 13mp than forget it, the m8 4mp is still a better camera than those.
Why cant htc get their camera right even new companies from china are getting better cameras than htc
16. chocowii (Posts: 327; Member since: 30 Jan 2014)
Hehe more like FlyCam. 120 2MP cameras in one phone, like a fly's eyes. Lol!
Seriously, who would like slim bezels? Bezels protects the phone from drops and accidental touches. I tried viewing and holding a zero bezel device. I was like 'How would you touch this?" I hold both the top and bottom part of the phone, and just as Steve Jobs said; "Youre not holding the phone correctly".
Imagine holding your zero bezel phone on your left hand. Pull out the keyboard. Type the word 'qaz' and notice the skin of your palm touching the letters on the other side of the keyboard, the PLM. Thats how hard it is to hold a zero bezel phone.
Now if you want zero bezels thats fine. Just decide if you want design over functionality.

Wanna sell more..?? 20 MP UltraPixel and 8 MP Selfie dammit..!!! Waterproof in Metal body if you would.. and 64 GB internal with MicroSD for the extra killer.. also giant battery come'on..!!! My personal opinion is HTC looks dumb with Ultrapixel.. Yes brilliant body but the seller point always the camera nowadays.. for selfier...
22. BaffledTruffle (Posts: 109; Member since: 07 Dec 2013)
I agree with most of what you said. But the camera isn't all about the megapixels. HTC's flagship is lacking excellence in image processing. They can upgrade the Ultrapixel camera by megapixels, but they also need to refine their image processing software as well.
26. tridentcore (Posts: 6; Member since: 06 Apr 2012)
Indeed, but for common people megapixel is everything and become a seller point.. for me megapixel is for the detail of the photo itselft, less pixel means no detail, more pixel more detail.. plus ultrapixel for low-light photoshoot.. HTC ImageChip need improvement dammit..!!!
My dream for M9, 20 MP UltraPixel (okey UltraPixel with BIG MegaPixel), 64 GB or 128 GB if they dare to punch the market... F*cking BIG battery 3000 mAh or more..!!! Waterproof if you (also) dare...!!!
Please tell me why HTC does everything with 100% risking their market..!!! HTC One S without MicroSD (only 16 GB), HTC One with 4MP (worst for detail photoshoot) and HTC One M8.

because old people are at the front of the companies money, it costs a few dollars for a part and they quad the price to make it back. if younger people really had input we would have the perfect phone and then just refine it every year, as apple does to theirs, meaning the old people running apple think they know what people want and don't do more than that.
HTC listen here
if you want to be in the main market and become like samsung or lg or apple, push innovation, and by that i mean put super high mp camera 20-42 pureview style with ois on m8 plus or m9 no need for quad screen 1080p is fine, leave it a 5 or 5.1 screen take your name off the front leave it on the back, take the boomsound chambers and run them from top as is down the side bezel, limit height of phone m8 is too tall.
Ogod the duo camera terminate the person who thought that would be a good idea.
if you want a ultra pix camera put it under the main and make it a 8 upx for night shot enhancing you can do 2 types
aluminum with a matt finish over the back cover that will come off for battery and sim access, wireless charging push it with no micro usb use magnetic charging like windows surface screen to keyboard or macbook allow for charge and data sync now its waterproof not water resistant. also just 4gb ram with 810 snapdragon 64bit and 64 gig internal push it with 128gb.
2nd type is polycarbonate or fiberglass mixed for weight and strength all the same specs above, the poly or aluminum need the d3 rubber around the sides so you can hold onto the phone we love aluminum but its slippy,
IF you do this you will be king of phones and you will be on top in no time i mean destroy all competition
all other phone makers you can do this also

Wow that was a long read but I agree with your ideas completely! +1 sir
56. motoglide (Posts: 3; Member since: 03 Aug 2014)
Running the speakers down the side won't help, it will make the phone wider and harder to use one handed, the best way to go about it would be to place them up top near where the power button is, top and bottom.

Whoever made this concept, is the stupidest person on the planet.
41. Arte-8800 (limited) (Posts: 4281; Member since: 13 Mar 2014)
Wth who are you?
A wannabe of me Lmfao
Don't be silly you, this I find looks better than the M8, which has more curves than this concept design
45. chocowii (Posts: 327; Member since: 30 Jan 2014)
Dummy acct dude? Looks like the trolle got trolled. :-) lol!
49. 8800-Arte (Posts: 50; Member since: 05 Jun 2014)
I am just another dude with a modest income which is enough to buy me the high quality gadgets I want. Some of them are made of premium materials like titanium, silver, adamantium and even vibranium
50. chocowii (Posts: 327; Member since: 30 Jan 2014)
You mean a Corby phone? Lol!
A vibranium phone. The blender will get destroyed this time..
23. catt4u (Posts: 64; Member since: 09 Jul 2011)
Just go for the LG G3 if you want the 3GB of RAM, slim bazels and 3000MaH battery ;)
You get the QHD screen as a bonus also!
Or wait 'till next year (you've got to before a possible M9 would be available) and go for the G3's successor with updated specs, wich will always be better than the successor to the M8.
35. BaffledTruffle (Posts: 109; Member since: 07 Dec 2013)
I just read G3's review from GSMA. It's screen has low contrast ratio, the battery life is horrible (about 6 hours of web browsing time!) and if you really care about benchmarks, they are lower than the other flagships around.
If I had the money, I'd buy a Z2 or an S5.
44. billgates (banned) (Posts: 555; Member since: 29 May 2014)
Oh no! I haven't read that yet.

Don't like this at all. I expect HTC to keep making the design better, as the M8 is better than the M7, I expect the M9 to be better than the M8.
33. toyboyz (Posts: 61; Member since: 22 Jan 2010)
This rendering of the screens dimensions is how the m8 should have been. Then they would have flown off the shelves.! Think HTC!
36. engineer-1701d (Posts: 774; Member since: 13 Mar 2014)
whatever they do i need them to keep the speakers upfront i like the first concept but speakers upfront quad speakers one in each corner. The phone needs a dedicated button on the bottom so if screen is off or on i can push the button down with thumb and it will be in voice mode, whatever i say it does like ok google but without saying that just push botton and say what you are looking for and after letting go it stops recording and starts looking internally as i am saying then does it. i emailed all the major phone makers about this and it looks like apple did something like it a mix between ok google and my hold thumb,
46. newbey123 (Posts: 404; Member since: 19 Mar 2012)
HTC wins the design category hands down, along with UI and overall appeal of all android phones.
47. gaara6775 (Posts: 277; Member since: 20 May 2014)
Sick design. Don't know what material they used at the back but looks great. If bezels are less compare to g3 then people want big bezel, lol .what's wrong?. Whatever, nice concept .
51. zjtom (Posts: 1; Member since: 01 Dec 2013)
I love my HTC because of Sense from windows mobile. Not just hardware. I know everybody love HTC. But why all of you guys forgotten about HTC's fascination? Looking for better hardware? Go get the Samsung Galaxy s5 or note 3 or LG G3. I was jump from S4 to M8. Ofcourse I love sense.
53. legume98 (Posts: 2; Member since: 23 Jul 2014)
I own an M8 right now. I got it knowing that the camera resolution is bad but when I played around with the software, boy! I got some amazing results! HTC's image editor has such a simple, clean interface and even a photography noob can come up with briliant pictures. i59.tinypic.com/2dsmvk0.jpg
A 13MP ultrapixel camera will make it look worse than nokia 808! LOL
I expect :
- Snapdragon 810 proc
- 6~8 mp enhanced ultrapixel camera with depth sensor
- 3GB RAM
- ~5.2" QHD display (hopefully Super LCD4 with IGZO)
But then I expect the software, sense 7 to have more interesting features, espcially a photosuite app to enhance images!
54. motoglide (Posts: 3; Member since: 03 Aug 2014)
Bezels are only annoying to me if they're not useful to a phone, which they are quite useful on the One M7 or M8. They have the best sounding mobile phone speakers there are bar none. IPhones have the most hideous design from the front yet people still scoop those up, if you ask me next to the G3 the One M8 is the best looking mobile device you can get at the time of this comment. But the HTC gets the edge here because of build quality. At least HTC isn't super gimmicky like Samsung.
Sense 6's Ui is less clunky and more intuitive than most others. (Ahem touchwiz)
55. motoglide (Posts: 3; Member since: 03 Aug 2014)
Also, the Camera is only an issue on the M8 if you print them out. On the phone the pictures look no different than on say an iPhone or a GS5. For the next "One HTC should bump the "UltraPixel" up to at least 10, had they bumped it up to 8 on the M8 this phone would have been perfect. Either way, nothing about the M8 dissapoints me at all.
Yes, the battery could have been a bit bigger, the Camera could have been of higher resolution, but I don't print photos from my smartphone. It's all about preference
