Sprint rolls out Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow for Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Note 5

Sprint rolls out Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow for Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Note 5
If you're in ownership of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 or Note 5 through Sprint, then you'll be pleased to hear that the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update is now en route to your device. Along with the glut of enhancements offered by Marshmallow 6.0 such as the Doze battery-saving feature, the 1.4 GB bundle includes the emoji pack and March security patch brought forth with Android 6.0.1.

Given that Marshmallow has been around for a number of months now, it has taken a while for Sprint Galaxy Note 4 and Note 5 owners to get their hands on the latest flavor. Still, it's good to see that both handsets are being catered to simultaneously, and if you've been eager to test the new features of Android's most recent installment on your Note device, your wait is effectively up.

As aforementioned, the update is around 1.4 gigs in size, so it may take a while to download dependent on the state of your connection. If you haven't already gotten the OTA notification and processed the update, you should navigate through Settings --> About device --> Software update --> Update now. As ever, the update may not be available immediately to all, but if you don't have any joy at the first try, simply wait a little and check again at regular intervals.

I'm curious to see how big Android Marshmallow's share is now, now that (if not all) almost all flagships and mid rangers alike have received the update simultaneously this month.

Sprint first to update the Note 4 Sprint has lately been faster with their updates than the other 3 US carriers lately. I'm downloading on my Note 4 now as I type and my wife got hers on her Sprint GS6 already. For a carrier, Sprint has been improving a lot lately with better speeds in MY AREA and faster ROM updates vs other carriers.

Besides Doze, Google Now on Tap, and the new Action Menu, what else has this updated added? I can't find anything else. I have noticed that my Note 4 is running a bit smoother. I really wanted the ability to add themes to TouchWiz, but I don't see that option with this update...
